Cari Wilson - ETEC 590 - Fall 2009
Welcome to my journey!
Before I became a graduate student, before I had children and a mortgage, I worked as a kayak guide. I spent most weekends and all of my summers taking people on kayak trips on the beautiful west coast of Canada.
Being a kayak guide is hard work - up at 5 every morning, cater to the clients all day, make sure everyone is safe and happy and at the end of each trip, clean all the equipment and get ready to do it again!
Being a grad student is hard work, too! Try to balance family, work and study, get good grades and learn new things, make connections with new people and at the end of it? Well, it's time to figure that out.
So, pull out your paddle and your PFD and join me in my kayak journey through the wild waters of the UBC MET program! Feel free to navigate with the buttons or links.
Who Should Read This:
This e-Portfolio was created as a requirement for ETEC 590, and as such, I would assume that my professors and fellow students will peruse the work herein.
However, I am also creating this website for my family, friends and students, so they can see what I've been working so hard to accomplish.
Prospective MET students and future employers might also choose to look through this ePortfolio; either to get an idea of what the MET program is all about or to get an idea of my capabilities.
Perhaps most importantly, though, this ePortfolio is for me. It is evidence that I was here, that I challenged myself, that I learned and that I managed to make it through. On days when I might doubt myself or my direction, I can look back at this and get my bearings again.
Below this, you will find a link to my rubric for evaluation. You will also find a video guide to this eportfolio embedded below. Lastly, on the last page of this booklet, you will find the credits for all the pictures used in this ePortfolio.
Enjoy!
