"You wont find any chicken photos on my site, but you will always remember the name"
Jason Kenzie was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. Exposed to the beautiful scenery this area has to offer, Jason always had a big passion for photography. However he first pursued a career as a professional dancer and taught dance for over 20 years. Besides teaching, he also toured around the world with various music groups such as Heavy D and Sisco. During his travels through Europe, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, the United States and Canada, Jason always carried a camera. It was in Miami Beach, Florida, where he met well-respected photographer, Robert Copeland. Robert introduced him to the professional side of photography, and taught him techniques that he still uses today.During hot blistering days in the Florida backwaters, Jason would search for wildlife. Sometimes the excitement was overwhelming, as he would follow Robert shoulder-deep into the alligator- and snake-infested swamps of the dense Everglades, sneaking up on Southern key deer and the magnificent alligator just to get that one great shot.Jason has been hooked ever since. His studies at the University of Florida taught him great skills and offered him an innovative blend of provocative and experimental approaches to photography in the traditional setting of a large, diversified state research university. As one of the most established programs of graduate and undergraduate study in photography in the United States, it allowed Jason to draw on substantial faculty strengths in photography as well as unusual expertise in the broad field of contemporary visual inquiry. Since his time in Florida, he has finessed his skills and now specializes in event, pet and people photography. He can work on site or in his studio.
