Jason Kenzie was born and raised in Vancouver, BC. Being exposed to the beautiful scenery this area has the offer, Jason always had a big passion for photography. However Jason first pursued a career as a professional dancer and taught dance for over 20 years. Besides teaching he also toured with various music groups such as Heavy D and Sisco around the world. During his travels through Europe, Australia, Japan, Thailand, Mexico, United States and Canada, Jason always carried a camera. It was in Miami Beach Florida, where he met a well respected photographer Robert Copeland who introduced him to the professional side of photography, and taught him techniques that he still uses today.
During the hot blistering days in the Florida Back waters, Jason would search for wildlife. Sometimes the excitement was overwhelming, as he would follow Robert, shoulder deep into alligator and snake infested swamps of the dense Everglades, sneaking up on Southern key deer and the magnificent alligator just to get that one great shot.
Jason has been hooked ever since.
While studying at the University of Florida it taught him great skills and it offered him an innovative blend of provocative and experimental approaches to photography in the traditional setting of a large, diversified state research university. As one of the most established programs of graduate and undergraduate study in photography in the United States, Jason's draw on substantial faculty strengths in photography as well as unusual expertise in the broad field of contemporary visual inquiry.
Since Florida he has improved his skills and now specializes in event, pet and people photography. He is capable working on site or in his studio.
