Well to begin...I am 16 years old and attend H.P.H.S (Nursing academy) as a junior! I am puerto rican and of course i love my culture. A major part in being Puerto Rican is to actually know how to speak spanish and thats the learning path I am on now. First of all it opens up a whole new world and new culture to you, you can travel to the country where the language is spoken and feel comfortable, be able to fit in, and even work.These oppurtunities are closed off to you if you can't speak the language.It has been proven that speaking a second language well, will improve your job prospects and promotion chances more than any other single thing will.So it could open up a whole new career to you, that you had never previously considered.Many people say that when they have to speak a second language and live in that language daily, it can happen that they develop another personality in the second language, different to the one they exhibit in their 1st language, this can be interesting and open up a new world to you.It also keeps the brain working and active and can improve memory.
