STUDENT COMMENTS: I recently took classes in pastel with Karen Sewell. I began all tight and afraid to put down color for fear of making a mess. She coaxed out abilities I didn't know I had and released a freedom to open up and apply color and bold strokes with confidence. I finished the class with a work I'm really proud of--can't wait for another class to begin. --Niki Perillat Karen Sewell is an extremely talented artist who loves her work. Her enthusiasm is contagious in the classroom--through humor and gentle encouragement she passes that love and technical knowledge along to her students. I've taken a pastel class and a color theory class in oil and pastel from Karen. Both really pushed me into an entirely new level in my art. She worked with each of us, encouraging all to try something new and giving helpful suggestions when we did. She is a wonderful teacher! --Cheryl Mackian
