Kappa Delta is a sorority with more than 215,000 members nationwide. We make great things happen in women's lives, on campuses and in communities across the country. Kappa Delta inspires its members to reach their potential by offering opportunities for leadership, personal development, academic success and community service, all in the context of true friendship. Kappa Delta is committed to inspiring each and every member to lead a values-based life and become a woman of greatness. The principles and ideals upon which our organization was founded are ingrained in everything we do as a sorority, and our members and chapter programs and initiatives reflect these values every day.
News and Uncoming Events
Kappa Delta was founded over 110 years ago by four young women. The idea that four unique women could just sit down and create a sisterhood as enduring as Kappa Delta sometimes defies understanding. But that's exactly what they did.
Kappa Delta's founders were four very different women. They ranged in age from 15 to 23, yet brought a singular sense of purpose to this particular endeavor. Their dream was to create something more lasting than a club -- a sorority! It was to be an entity that would grow beyond their own chapter at State Female Normal School. But they never dreamed that it would grown into such a powerful organization of nearly 200,000 women, over 200 chartered chapters and nearly 500 chartered alumnae associations nationwide.
The sorority still holds true to its original object adopted sometime before 1902...
"The object of Kappa Delta Sorority is the formation and perpetuation of good fellowship, friendship and sisterly love among its members; the encouragement of literature and education; the promotion of social interest; and the furtherance of charitable and benevolent purposes."
Sisters Jaimie Hendricks and Allison Collins welcome our new members to our chapter at Bid Day 2011!
The Beta Mu Chapter of Kappa Delta truly represents all aspects of our sorority at Bowling Green State University. Each of us takes our open motto,
"Let us strive for that which is honorable, beautiful, and highest,"
to heart on our campus in all areas of Greek Life and in our everyday lives. We are a continually growing and unique chapter full of women that truly understand the meaning of sorority life and cherish the wonderful memories and friendships we have gained from our strong sisterhood.

There are many famous ladies of Kappa Delta. Here are a few of the faces that you might recognize!
You have brains in your head.
You have feet in your shoes
You can steer yourself
any direction you choose.
You're on your own. And you know what you know.
And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go.
No matter how far from home she is, a Kappa Delta sister always remembers the sisters she left behind.

"Sisterhood is about the symbols we share, the ritual we live by, and the stong bond we build. Just like birth sisters, we don't have to be the best of friends, but when the chips are down you know you can depend on your sisters because there is an indescribable something that ties is all together!" -- A Beta Mu Sister
"People ask why I am in a sorority and I try to explain all the things a sorority is that they cannot see. A sorority is more than letters on a sweatshirt, I say. More than traditional songs, a gold pin, rituals, and obligation, or a way of life. A sorority is learning about people, a sorority is giving without expecting a return. A sorority is earning respect from others, as well as for yourself. A sorority will not solve all your problems. But I have made good friends and found confidence there to help me take life one step at a time." -- Unknown
