I was born in a winter day in 1981 in Rijeka (Croatia). Since childhood I was fascinated by nature so at the age of twelve I decided to graduate in natural sciences. At present time I am pursuing a Phd in environmental biology at the University of Trieste (Italy). University studies have kept me very busy, so it is just after graduation that I could devote to photography with more constancy.
I consider myself very fortunate to live in a land that offers so many different scenarios. I love exploring and discovering always new forms and colors of the karst and enter the magical world of caves. When I travel I try to perceive the essence of nature, places and people who live there. Visit places so far away made me realize that deep down we are much more similar than we want to believe. The hectic lifestyle often makes us not see what we have in front of the nose and for me photography has become a way to live the present. I walk, I stop, I look and observe, I compose and dismantle, then I capture the image that I have in mind. There is nothing else.
Through my photos I try to convey these feelings and to make people know and appreciate the hidden aspects of nature.
My photos were published in scientific books such as "Quaderni Habitat - Ministry of the Environment, Land and Sea, Friuli Museum of Natural History,Udine, 2009” and “Protected species according to the SPA/BIO protocol (Barcelona Convention) present in Italy, Identification sheets, 2009”.
