BASIC GRANOLA BARS
Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups quick cooking oats, uncooked 1/2 cup wheat germ 1/4 cup honey 2 tsp. vegetable oil
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except the wheat germ. Sprinkle the wheat germ on a baking sheet. Spread the oa mixture over the entire baking sheet. (I find that it is easier to spread the mixture into small 3 by 3 inch sections over the baking sheet) Bake 325 degrees for 25 to 30 min. Chekc the pieces as they bake; After 10 min. turn them over. Continue baking for the remaining 15-20min. until the pieces are hard and golden brown. Cool on a baking rack. Sotre in a covered container or plastic storage bag in the refrigerator. (I normally put the pieces in a plastic storage bag and crush them with a rolling pin; then I sprinkle the granola over frozen treats, use it for granola bars, and use it to decorate cakes or muffins.) Yeild: Approximately 2 cups
