ABOUT
BEHIND THE LENS
Justin de Jesus, who recently graduated from De La Salle University (DLSU), finished two degrees that are poles apart- finance and communication arts. While he could have applied in financial institutions after college, he chose to focus on his craft, photography. This is not a surprising move for someone who was photo editor of DLSU's official student publication, The LaSallian, and who covered major national events like Cory Aquino's funeral and burial, the SONA and protest rallies against then Pres. GMA, among others. Aside from photojournalism, Justin is also into landscape and travel photography. A seasoned traveler himself, he has been around Asia- in Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia and Japan.
His undergraduate thesis, a photo essay on Buddhism in the Philippines, also reflects his personal interest in Zen Buddhism and photography of temples. Now a freelance photographer, Justin juggles his photo shoots with downtime with his family and friends doing the sort of things he likes to do- watching movies, eating Japanese food, and while at it, taking pictures.
