About Us
Founded in 2002, as both a dance studio and a gallery, Green Space is dedicated to providing a safe and nurturing environment for artists, teachers, and students to explore technique and experience creative expansion. Green Space produces dance and theatre classes for children and adults, and hosts other courses in many disciplines, for example Tai Chi, yoga, hip hop, Tango, Swing, and Belly Dance to name a few.
How Green Space Got it's Name
Our beautiful studio has been a landmark of Denton dance for decades. In 2002, MacIntyre returned to her hometown of Denton and purchased the building, originally constructed by Denton dance legend Elenor Green in 1970. Karen studied with Ms. Green from 1960 to 1973. The name Green Space is a tribute to Ms. Green and also an artistic statement about the nature of the creative environment MacIntyre wishes to provide for the community.
Founder: Karen MacIntyre, MFA
