New England photographer Jim Sylvain is passionate about seeing things differently and truly capturing emotions. I started photographing at a very young age. I shot photos using various cameras such as the Kodak point and shoot type. At that time, it took many weeks to see my pictures, which were processed via mail-order. In 1980 I managed to purchase my first film SLR. It was a Nikon 35mm film camera with a 50mm lens. I spent long evenings learning about advanced composition, lighting and exposures. I took formal classes and shot many rolls of film. I even processed some of my own B&W film at home. Throughout the early years my daughter and family have been my main subject. Today, I continue to shoot with state-of-the-art digital Nikons cameras and lenses and do specialize in various types of portraiture as you will see on my portfolio pages. With my photography work I attempt to capture true emotions. For me, each photograph is a unique work of art, so very important to my clients and all of which deserve the care and attention to detail that I spend on them.Contact me to now Check for availability and bookings.
