Through guided study, students refine their creative process in developing a dance from idea/conception to concert performance. The culmination of this course for each student is to present their senior capstone choreography and produce the Emerging Choreographers: Senior Capstone Dance Concert held April 15-17 in the Maggie Allesee Studio Theatre. This concert represents the final choreographic project for students’ undergraduate degree in dance; therefore, the expectation is that the student will work to make these dances as finely crafted and fully realized as possible. In addition, a Digital Dance Portfolio (DDP) is required of each Capstone student. The DDP is a digital archive of a student’s work. The DDP is an individualized self-reflection of the efforts, progress, and achievement throughout a student’s BS/BFA degree work in areas such as choreography, performance, teaching and research. The personal Web Site serves as a ‘living document” that evolves with the student.
