D.A.J. Airbrush Makeup Professionals' creator is Dixie-Ann John - a certified Airbrush Makeup Artist with TEMPTUPRO (2010 August). She has been practising Makeup Artistry since 2006 and specialising in Airbrush Makeup and Body Art since 2008 and has become one of the most well known Airbrush Makeup Artists in Trinidad.Mission/Vision:Her business mission is to create spectular transformations for any client using makeup. Its her belief that each client's face should be treated as a separate 'canvas' and looks should be crafted to honour that uniqueness. In addition, its also her priority that the Professionals' ensure that each of the clients are put at ease and made comfortable with their warm & friendly personalities, techniques and professionalism. This warm touch ensures that her business is always in high demand for bridal season and for major events and promotions. THE FLAIR FOR COLOR FOR DIVALIThere is a wonderful freedom of makeup application whenever the Divali Holiday rolls around. I’ve always noticed that the trendy woman of Indian heritage loves to play with color and is not ever held back by any rules of strict placement especially when it comes to eye makeup. The looks can vary from serene to complete drama and all would be appropriate and absolute fun to create!The look I created is fresh and easy on the eyes yet still trendy enough to last you the entire day & night’s events!Although the general rule of thumb is don’t match your eyeshadow to your clothes, in this case here, throw it out the window! The clothing is usually adorned with various shades that complement each other and therefore you can create the necessary balance with the rest of the face. I wanted the focus to be on the eyes and I decided on soft complimentary colors of red and green to complement the yellow-orange toned sari and jewelry.The placement of the colors can be done easily as the colors were just layered on top of each other with the red shade going more towards the brow bone and the green staying on the eyelid. Remember to blend as you continue, so when the colors join each other, they create a seamless look. Never forget the healthy dose of mascara and eyeliner to finish!To continue the balance, the lips were lined in a deep red shade with a matching lipstick. Dixie Tip for Lips: For staying power, apply foundation onto the lip and then the lip pencil and lip color, use a tissue to blot and then re-apply the lip color again. The foundation smoothes out the lip like a primer!

MAKEUP 411 – HELP! HOW CAN I STILL GET FLAWLESS SKIN WITH ACNE SCARRING? Question:Hi Dixie-Ann, I have terrible acne scars all over my face. What can I use to: Cover them with makeup and have a flawless look & et rid of the marksAnswer:Thank you for sending this question my way as I had wanted to highlight and possibly assist in giving solutions to what seem to be a common problem amongst makeup wearers these days. Let me focus on skin care first:•SKIN CAREThere isn’t just one way to handle the acne scars as the causes may vary and as such, I always advocate visiting a dermatologist or aesthetician. They will be equipped to go beneath the surface to accurately determine the cause or causes for the breakout and scarring. After this determination is made there will be some topical medications that will most likely be prescribed to slow down or totally stop the breakouts. With regards to the scarring, there are tons of topical organic recipes that I can recommend to lighten the marks such as saffron or turmeric powder, tomatoes or even cucumbers. So trust me when I say you can never run out of foodstuffs to help give the skin a much more healthy glow!•COVERAGE WITH MAKEUPAfter the skin care has been finalized, we can now focus on an interim solution that can help cover/hide the scarring. To combat this problem, I have always preferred creamy foundations to liquid as they are much more blendable and create a more seamless look whereas the liquid, if not applied properly can look dull and overly matte. There are different types of makeup brands that are available out there for the coverage of slight to medium scarring such as Mineral Foundations, Dermablend, Black Opal and for extreme cases, a trusted brand is Cover FX. Step 1:Apply a good primer to help fill in the ‘pock marks’ and little holes/pores that may be apparent. This also helps to give the face some oil control.Step 2:Apply a light dusting of powder with a fluffy brush and then apply a pea size amount of the foundation/concealer to the marks alone. Apply in a patting motion and then apply powder to set.The intention is to create enough coverage to hide the marks whilst still allowing the skin to look breathable. The trick here is NOT to pile it on, in fact the amount I suggested will definitely be enough to cover the area. Dixie Tip – The foundation MUST be the same shade as your skin otherwise it will do the opposite of your intention and highlight the scars!Dixie Tip – Remember to use a damp sponge to pat or stipple on the foundation as this will look much more blended and you use even less which is always better! If you think that you applied too much foundation product, you can always use a two-ply tissue and just dab the face and it will absorb the extra oils from the product.

A SOFT POP OF RED LIP COLOR!The colour Red has been known to strike fear into the hearts of many women if it only remotely came close to their lips!There are so many shades of red out there that you can play with and I wanted to create a look of red lips that look soft and can easily accompany a darker eye look! If more allure is desired, then go darker in both the lip shade and the eyeshadow and people won’t be able to keep their eyes off of you!
