A Little Bit About Jo
A bit about how I came to this site and what you should know about me.I was born in Brooklyn, NYC and grew up in the 50's and 60's. I attended public grammar school and I aggended a Catholic High School, which formed my basis for learning and skills later in life.I went to college at St. John'n University at the Jamaica, NY campus and commuted all those four long years in all types of broken-down barely functioning vehicles when the cost of gas was like 50 cents a gallon and even then it was a big budget item to get the cash together to make the trip.All of this led up to a career in New York City as a plain old pink collar worker to make the most money possible in the medical and the legal areas. I just moved around when the money was better, sort of the m.o. in those olden days, when jobs were there if you were willing to do them and had the skills from school. These days it seems people are getting by barely being able to read and unable to talk about anything beyond Beyonce's latest marriage.Finally, my long ordeal was over when I met my husband, Jim and we moved to New Jersey, where we commuted from for about 12 years to New York to maintain our jobs and to pay off our mortgage toward retirement days. They finally arrived, and many more adventures intervened until here I am.I am currently devoting much of my time to working in digital graphics. I create and exhibit wherever I can. My main subject if flowers, but I'll do a pet portrait if I can. My love of photography, which has sustained me through a cancer battle in 2008, and many hassles at work and with personal stuff, has grown and been nurtured by contact with the wonderful folks at the Navesink Garden Club and Berookdale Computer Users Group.To see more of what I'm up to you should go to Wazzzzzup! for some current activities.To see more of my work efforts, you can go to my Gallery, where I'm showing a smattering of artwork online.Please remember that this is a work in progress, and I'm making the best of it that I can---LOL
