Joanna Burton is a Welsh artists who boasts a wide range of skills, from portraiture to metaphores, from landscapes to the surreal she chooses evocative subjects to promote and grip the emotions of the viewer... find a range of her work which may be ordered at sizes to suit you, printed on canvas and high grade paper..
Joanna started her family young and found herself raising two small children alone very early on, her passion for art and painting never subsided though and she would involve the children on many wonderful creations and use them to inspire her work. As soon as she was able she attended a foundation course at Coleg Sir Gar which fuelled her passion. After spending a year out with her children before they hit full time education she returned to Carmarthen to complete a 3 yr degree in Painting.
Her work is often about relationships sometimes metaphorically sometimes more obvious. Fairy tales do play a large part in influencing her work as the stories themselves have hidden meanings regarding society and life - these things which the artist often finds highlighted by her situation as a single parent and also by reflecting on her own years of growing up.
