Jamie was born in Singapore where her exposure to the world of visual arts began. Her family moved to Vancouver, BC when she was 12 and a passion for visual media was ignited. Jamie completed her groundwork in fine arts through Art Foundations at Fraser Heights Secondary School. Here she became an active member of the Media Club by filming talent shows, sports highlights and fashion shows. She then expanded her interests to include photography and joined the Yearbook Club, using Photoshop and InDesign extensively to help produce the school's annual. At the end of her graduating year, Jamie had collected valuable footage of her peers and put together her high school graduation video.
In October of 2007, Jamie enrolled in the Digital Film & Video Production program at The Art Institute of Vancouver to expand on her skills and knowledge of the film industry. With the help of her instructors and classmates, Jamie has produced and directed a variety of projects including of music videos, short films, commercials and documentaries. She has also shot and edited numerous projects for other people's productions within and outside of school.
On the side, Jamie has also done numerous on location still photography shoots for short films, music videos, and other video content. She is currently looking to build her photography portfolio.
Now at the age of 20, Jamie has an impressive array of skills in directing, editing, and photography -- and a strong overall knowledge of film production. She hopes to work in a creative and passion-driven environment.
