Composer Arranger Performer
John Newman is a composer, arranger and performer in many musical genres. He has worked in styles as diverse as soundtracks, art songs, choral, rock and roll, new age, and the electroacoustic avant garde.
His mother used to say, "He was just the opposite of my other sons. With them it was, 'Get in here and practice the piano!' With John it was, 'Get off the piano and go outside!'"
John brings a lyrical sense and innate fire to his music, born from his background as a trumpet player and coupled with a deep connection to his faith. He has written for radio, been commissioned by choirs and chamber groups and writen several solo vocal and instrumental works. John is equally at home in the studio as he is in the concert hall, having co-produced an indie rock album in addition to creating his own music.
Currently, John is living in Utah with his wife and four children. He writes for local groups and works closely with the Salty Cricket Composer's Collective, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the works of living Utah composers.

I know that sounds weird, but trust me. It's important. It's part of what allows me to provide these for free.
