Amazing WWII Combat Action in HD
As WW II began to turn in favor of the Soviets on the Eastern front, many German soldiers began to realize that their early successes were now merely history. Even as these soldiers were faced with being either captured or killed, they still found it very difficult to accept that the final victory would only come through the choice to live another day by surrendering. Der End Sieg is the effort of a self-financed film maker to tell the story of what may have happened to his grandfather, who died as a POW in Soviet captivity sometime after WWII.

DER END SIEG-The FInal Victory
While only 7 minutes and 30 seconds in length, the film has an astounding amount of historically accurate action. The film's style is representative of combat footage but has the immediacy of an action film. Although the principal photography only took 2 days, post production went on for over a year. Revolutionary new techniques were utilized to bring to Panzers, Panthers, Tigers, T-34s and Stukas to life.
A short story
The story is that of one soldier's changing perspective on the power of the German army and his place in it. While he does engage in combat, he also recollects on the past victories and challenges faced by his country's military. The film does not comment on the politics of WWII as this is not typically the type of viewpoint explored by an infantryman.
Format
The film was shot in 1080p but for ease of download has been scaled back to 720p. For windows systems, it may be easier to view the film with VLC payer which can be downloaded for free.
