ABOUT US

A TASTE OF DENMARK was started on August 8, 2010 around a small table in a vacated bakery in Oakland. The owners of the building and three former employees of the old bakery sat down and formed a plan for a new co-op bakery.

A TASTE OF DENMARK WAS BORN.

The ideas and experience we brought to the new business come from more than 80 years of experience in the bakery business. Our decorators have made thousands of wedding cakes over the last four decades. We welcome the chance to do your cake for your wedding on that special day.

We offer many styles of decoration to choose from, but you can also bring us your own design and we will be happy to do that too. We take great pride in our ability to do whatever it takes to make you happy with your cakes. We will work with you to customize your cake to make yours one to remember.

Our goal is that anyone that sees and tastes your cake will have to have one from the same place you got yours. We will do our best to make that happen. This is how we do business, and the way we will grow into what we know will be: "THE BEST BAKERY AROUND."

We are already bringing out our Valentine day cookies. We also are looking forward to the upcoming wedding season. Decorated Cakes

DECORATED CAKES

We offer many kinds of decorated cakes. We have most of the popular scenes that you find from the television and movies. We also can put an edible image of yours on most cakes. You bring us, or email us one of your favorite pictures and we will be happy to put it on your cake.

We have a very large selection of cake types and fillings to choose from. We use only the very best of ingredients to make oue cakes. We have fresh strawberries for most of the year. We do have some decorated cakes available every day in the store for you to pick up and go without ordering ahead.

Our prices are very competitive for the quality.

Buttercream cakes are priced from:

$19.00 for a 7" decorated to $ 71.00 for a full sheet. Whip cream are priced from $ 27.00 for a

8" cake to $ 90.00 for a full sheet. Fresh fruit and the scenes do have an extra charge. Please call or email us to get an exact charge of the cake you want.

Our decorators have been creating exquisite cakes for over 60 years in the Bay Area. We have many styles to choose from with pictures you can look at in our store. If you don't see one that you like or you have something you would like us to make bring in a picture and we will be happy to do that for you. We love to do custom work!! We can work with whip cream, rolled fondant or our white fudge to create any look you desire. Our pricing is very reasonable, from $ 1.75 a serving and up. Please contact us for more information, or to arrange a tasting in our store. We look forward to helping you with this once in a lifetime purchase.

At " A TASTE OF DENMARK" We take great pride in our Danish pastry. We do all of our roll-in with butter. Not only does this make our product trans-fat free but it also makes it delicious. We bake our danish and coffee cakes fresh every day. We have one of the largest varieties of pastries for you to choose from. We make all of our products from scratch, no bag mixes for us. We also put our own fresh made fruit toppings on our danish. We also use only pure almond paste for our almond fillings too!! Come in and try some of our danish with a fresh cup of coffee. We feature Peerless coffee in our store.

Breads Rolls

BREAD & ROLLS

We bake our rolls and bread fresh daily. All of our rolls are made each day. Our bread is baked on certain days of the week. During the holidays we bake our bread more often. If you need a specific type of bread or roll on a certain day call or email us to be sure we can make it for you. Some types of bread we can only make in 4-6 loaf amounts. They all do freeze well so you can put some in the freezer if you want.

Our rolls are priced from $ 4.00 per dozen ( sliders, parkerhouse, seed) to $5.00 per dozen for butterflake. Croissants are $.90 ea. or $10.80 per dozen. Bread is priced from

$ 3.25 for white bread to $7.00 for colored pullman. Most rye breads are $ 4.35.

We usually have an ample supply of rolls on hand. We do suggest you order, to be sure you get the kind and amount you need for your party needs.

COOKIES

We are well known for our Danish Butter cookies. We make hundreds of dozens for the holidays. We pack them in many types of seasonal packages. We also have our standard cookie box that we do year around. You may also buy them by the dozen. We also have the standard large cookies to buy. We do chocolate chip, macademia white chocolate, oatmeal raisin, fruit bars and everyones favorite our cashew curls. We will be happy to have your order ready when you arrive.
