Since 1999, YOGAMOMS & WELLNESS-CONNECTIONS classes have been given the HIGHEST RATING POSSIBLE
(5 stars *****) by the Lila Guide, an independent resource book for parents in the Washington DC Metropolitan Area.
MISSION & VISION:
YOGAMOMS, the foundation of WELLNESS-CONNECTIONS,
was conceived in 1999 to provide an opportunity for like-minded people
of all ages and backgrounds to meet and enrich their lives & relationships
through movement & satsang support. SATSANG is a Sanskrit term,
meaning an opportunity to gather together and share openly.
According to the teachings of yoga, satsang is one of the essential
elements on the path towards contentment and wellness. Honoring this
supportive tradition, we offer such an invaluable, empowering forum
as a keystone in each YOGAMOMS & WELLNESS-CONNECTIONS class.
OUR GROWTH:
As her students asked for more targeted strength training, Jessica developed her unique Sleek Physique program and added Pilates and Resist-a-Ball classes to her pre-natal and post-partum offerings. Once she began teaching seniors and more men joined her classes, it became necessary to flex the name of the company to reflect the new participants. WELLNESS-CONNECTIONS has grown to encompass a variety of classes and offerings founded on the same platform of: Yearning on the path towards wellness in an Open Giving Active atmosphere,
Meeting & making connections withOthers through Movement and Satsang Support.
As Jessica's student population expanded, it was clear that a WELLNESS NETWORK was forming.
The network began as a barter community of studetns trading their goods and services within the
Wellness-Connections community. As Jessica's interest in sustainable living grew, she created
Cozy Bamboo: Beautiful, Comfortable Performance-wear Clothing with Eco-Integrity &
Making Peace with Bees:Artisanal Beeswax Products Donating 1% of their Profits Towards Peace.
Jessica began sourcing her food from local farmers including Leissa Eggs, the Sandy Spring CSA,
the Baltimore, Takoma Park and Olney Farmer's Markets and most recently, listed as the best eco-enviro-conscious food producer in the country in Michael Pollan's Bestseller, The Omnivore's Dilemma , we are now a proud host of Polyface Farms Beyond Organic Meats & Dairy Products.
Additionally, Jessica is the Clerk of the Sandy Spring Friends'Community Service Committeeand secretary of the Sustainability Committee. All events are open to the Washington DC Metropolitan communitee-at-large.

Each YOGAMOMS & WELLNESS-CONNECTIONS class is tailored to meet the unique needs and desires of the participants and is appropriate for all skill levels. In all classes, we begin focusing on the breath and our intentions which guide us towards creating our unique pace for our journey. We then warm the body and spine with gentle stretches and deep concentrated breathing to oxygenate the joints and allow the spine to become more flexible. In some classes, we invert the body to stimulate the brain, increase the blood circulation, and counteract the aging effects of gravity. We bend the spine forwards, backwards, laterally, and twist it to both sides to give an all over stretch to the body and to create and maintain balance and flexibility in the spine. We round out the class with deep relaxation and SATSANG, an opportunity to share openly.

YogaMoms is great!!! I refer lots of clients to them and they are always very satisfied and even rave about the wonderful classes and how much fun they had. The owner is lovely person and puts her heart and soul into teaching a quality class and caring for the moms she serves. As a labor support doula, I send alot of my clients to her classes.
Jessica is the greatest! I did pre-natal yoga with her for 2 kids and post-natal with one. Her classes also provide a community of women at the same stage of life-- nothing to be trifled with at 7 mos pregnant or with an 8 week old! Jessica was wonderful with helping to provide exercises and stretches for exactly where you hurt. I can't recommend her classes enough. - Carey F.
Jess has made a real difference in the quality of my health & life. Her devotion to my Yoga life has inspired me to practice Yoga & deep breathing five days a week.
Her exceptional skill, caring, & great sense of humor are a joy to me & I am sure countless others! THANK YOU JESS! - Joe M.
I think Jessica is a good Pilates teacher because she pays attention, teaches the anatomy involved, greets everyone by name, is patient and motivating, and regales us with stories and insights. She supports learning with visual handouts, and as a result of her instruction, I think more about my daily activities and how to move efficiently through them. I improve my posture, even when parked at a light in a car. I am more mindful.
I think Jessica's classes are better than most because she asks for student feedback and incorporates our suggestions. She demonstrates the move and gets up and corrects our positions. She is a hands-on participant. As a result, my flexibility and strength have been enhanced and all the while, I have been encouraged to work at my own pace. I am grateful.
I think Jessica is the best because when I found myself virtually incapacitated, felled by an unexpected illness and I'd drag myself to class thinking I'd be a spectator, she would individualize my instruction; providing bolsters and modifications that allowed me to participate in a chair. That is my idea of creativity and allowing for individual differences. I am on the mend. - Laurie S.
