ABOUT JENAFER
Jenafer Medina graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education at West Chester University of Pennsylvania and attended New York Institute of Technology to obtain her Masters Degree in Instructional Technology . After meeting her husband, she moved back to New York where she worked in the private school sect in both urban and suburban schools. Jenafer went on to work as a public school teacher in a diverse district in Rockland County, New York. She has experience in both the regular education and collaborative classroom models. Jen developed and lead many innovative projects during her tenure that brought high student participation as well as a love for learning. Jenafer left the classroom after 10 years to take a position as an Instructional Facilitator where she provided staff development for two schools, as well as parent workshops and developed curricula. Jenafer currently resides in the suburbs of Syracuse, NY and homeschools her two children. She is president and founder of Home Learners Association of CNY, a not-for-profit homeschooling group. She is a freelance writer featured in several magazines and online magazines. She writes mostly about those areas important to her: homeschooling, natural living, and positive parenting. In her spare time, she blogs about life at her blog Cage Free Monkeys.
