Biography
Photography has been a part of my life since my brother explained depth of field to me when I was twelve. Most recently, my work has been seen on CNN, and I have done jewelry photography for Yumi Chen, an up and coming designer in New York City. I have also shot events for Shecky's Media in the Washington DC and New York areas.
Originally from North Carolina, I studied English Literature and Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
I currently live and shoot in Brooklyn, where I routinely boil pasta and make lots of music, too. You can hear some with the player at the right, or here.
I am available for hire to shoot portraits or headshots in a variety of styles, high quality product photography for use on the web or in print, and events.
I am reliable and I will work with you to get the image you see in your head onto the page or screen.

The Edge of the Floating World
I lived in Japan from September 2006 until April 2008. Seeing things almost every day that I may never see again inspired me to carry my camera with me almost everywhere I went. I wanted to remember all these images, and I wanted to share them.
This book is available here from blurb.com, an on-demand publisher based out of San Francisco. Filled with 80 gorgeously printed full color pages, it represents a body of work that I hope to continue building upon.
From the introduction:
"Travel is a funny thing. One day you are walking around in a place that you know, eating the foods your family ate, and going through all the familiar motions of a life lived in unity with your surroundings. The next you are sitting on a metal tube for fourteen hours before stepping off, bleary eyed and cramped, into something new.
"This camera has turned my eye outwards more often and towards more interesting things than it otherwise would have met. This book is so that my family and friends may see a few of the things I've gotten a chance to see and so that I might better remember."
