We can recycle your old computer equipment at no cost
to you and reduce the impact on the environment by
refurbishing it and providing the gift of technology to
disadvantaged families!

We are not a recycling facility. We are a computer refurbishing facuility.
We take your old computers and related equipment and refurbish them. Once the computers are in working order we can then provide them at no cost to families and individuals right here in our community.
Our goal is simple , to help protect the environment while helping people in need!
Americans junked almost 3 million tons of electronics in 2007. Every computer dumped into a landfill represents a missed opportunity to provide Information-Age tools to individuals and organizations across the digital divide.
Computers For Charity advocates the environmentally-safe disposal of all computer equipment that cannot be reused.
Any donated equipment that is deemed as 'unusable' is disassembled, sorted and taken to an appropriate recycling destination facility.
We can refer you to an appropriate facility to recycle your non computer related electronic equipment.
Our process in a nutshell

As the equipment comes in it is evaluated and
inventoried. Once the non-usable items are
identified they are separated by type to be
recycled properly.
We advocate the environmentally-safe disposal
of all computer equipment that cannot be reused.
All hard disks are subjected to a secure deletion
format to 'shred' any personal data on the system,
making the data completely unrecoverable,
before installing the new operating system.
Our data destruction methods meet the Department
of Defense standards.

Computer systems are then refurbished by
identifying and replacing problem hardware as
needed and upgrading the computers to meet
the operating system specifications.
If you have a computer that is less then five years
old, Chances are that it can still be put to good use.
The refurbished computers are then taken to our distribution
location at Turning Point United Methodist Church in Bowling
Green Ohio where they are distributed to individuals and
families in need.
We need a constant influx of new equipment to continue this
important service to our community!
