About the Artist
Jeanne was raised on a farm in the Kamloops area of British Columbia. She moved to Victoria to pursue a teaching career in the early 70's. In 1982 she moved with her family to a farm in the Cowichan Valley where she has been directing her energies to running the farm as well as painting. Her favorite subjects are animals, people and anything with good light to dark contrasts. Jeanne has attended many workshops to improve her techniques and understanding of the art making process.
Some of her teachers have been Judi Betts, Linda Doll, Carla O'Connor, Gerald Brommer and Judy Morris. Jeanne works mainly in pastel, watercolor and acrylic. Her work has been shown at the Federation of Canadian Artists gallery in Vancouver and she is a signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society.

Artist's Statement
My inspiration is light and color, which I use to play with on figures, landscapes or mixed media pieces. Using pastels, acrylics/collage, watercolors or graphite I love to explore the process of creating an impressionistic likeness of my subjects. Although I paint for my own enjoyment, I hope you can relate to, and find pleasure in my work.
