Holbrook - King CBC
Jazz On
John R 2010
The Holbrook- King Community Block Club will be hosting its 9th annual “Jazz on John R” event Saturday, July 24, 2010. This is an event that brings positive spirit to our community and we would like to cultivate this positive spirit by continuing to improve and grow. “Jazz on John R” will take place at the intersection of John R and King Streets in Detroit MI between the hours of 12 Noon and 8 pm. The event showcases a number of local talents performing musical selections on stage and creates a great networking environment for local merchants. This event fosters unity and pride not only for our community, but for the entire City of Detroit. Best of all, this event is free to the public!
We would like to request your assistance in making this event an even bigger success than last year. This is a great two for one opportunity to support a great cause, and to receive some good publicity! We are asking for donations of cash or in kind services so that we may continue to provide services that will bring our community closer together and improve the quality of life for not just our community but the City of Detroit.
Sincerely,
Eugene Moore

Our History
The Holbrook-King Block Club was founded in the 1960’s to build a feeling of community among all of the residents. We received 501 c 3 status on February 3, 2001 and despite the block club name and membership changes over the years we are still committed to a vision of augmentation and beautification of our neighborhood and we remain focused on community togetherness. We confidently believe that thru community awareness of cultural, educational and likely economical opportunities and or programs, a sense of neighborhood esteem can permeate thru out. These significant prospects are key in cultivating pride for our surroundings.
