About the Artist
Janet Strayer was born in Germany, grew up in New York City, and currently is a dual U.S./Canadian citizen.
In addition to a stimulating career as a university professor, author of social-science articles, and researcher in human development., she refined her skills as a painter and printmaker in several classical and contemporary art programs .
In 2007 Strayer began her career as a fulltime artist, becoming an active member of national and local art associations and having public showings of her artwork.
Her work has won awards international juried competions, appeared in art galleries, books and media, and is collected by enthusiastic art-lovers.
