At Gazaab, we believe that people at every level of society and status has the potential and ability to create amazing things and make a great impact to their community. We hope that by exposing them to a diverse set of knowledge and people, we can help them to discover their own potential, their own ability and motivate themselves to become leaders and changemakers.

At the forefront of change is economic empowerment. And that's why we are out to create social entrepreneurs who are economically empowered and intrinsically motivated to solve problems for their community through business means.

We do this through our 3 pronged approach of social courses, social investing and social consulting.

30 Aug 2012 - Gazaab Social Ventures has published a book detailing the history of Gazaab and all the entrepreneurs we've helped through the time we've started since 2009. Our hard copy edition is currently sold out and out of print, but we're happy to offer our e-book at a massive discount to all our supporters!

23 Aug 2013 - Gazaab Social Ventures has won the HSBC Youth Excellence award as well as the most promising entrepreneur award given out at the Lee Kuan Yew Global Business Plan competition!

Social Consulting
Many are mired in poverty for a variety of reasons. Ironically, it's not because they lack a skill or an ability to make a livelihood. Usually they are simply exploited or simply have no idea how to go about getting business. With this program we seek to help them use their skill better by connecting them with tourists who are looking for an authentic experience as well as learn a traditional craft hands on.
Many of the entrepreneurs we know are equipped with skills like pottery, carving, painting, candle-making and the like. With this program, we will seek to link the tourists and the entrepreneurs up via the implementation of a web platform as well as physical distribution points in developing country's cities. This is done through our wholly owned subsidiary Backstreet Academy.
For entrepreneurs who have the potential to scale up and make a greater impact, we offer them funding in the form of an equity investment. These entrepreneurs would be selected through a recommendation system from our partner NGOs as well as through social courses.
After selecting the entrepreneurs, we put them through the Gazaab Business Competition program - A 5 day program based on the framework Inspire-Equip-Compete where we catalyse the creation of social entrepreneurs by giving them knowledge, networks, technologies, business help, equity funding and most importantly inspiration and the ability to believe in their own abilities.
For corporations who would like to conduct an exclusive Gazaab Business Competition for their own target group of participants, we offer our consulting services in the implementation of such a program from start to finish, including knowledge transfer and training.
For organizations keen on increasing their social impact and implementing corporate social responsibility programs, Gazaab is able to consult and implement solutions on your behalf.

20 Feb 2014 - Gazaab Social Ventures has partnered 2 local Cambodian partners, Smallworld and Interprise, to organize our first Business competition outside Nepal, in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. This event is called Gazaab Interprise @ Smallworld, and will feature many local successful entrepreneurs as speakers, as well as provide the winners of the competition up to US$10,000 in total prizes and investments.
