Hello everyone! My name is Danni Cumbo and I’m a sophomore at UVA-Wise. I am an English Literature major and I hope to teach high school English someday. I am active in helping with the Wise County Relay for Life and I was elected President of the UVA-Wise Ambassadors this year. UVA-Wise was the perfect school for me because of its smaller size which results in a more personal experience. I love that my professors know me by my first name and are willing to give me hands on help. I’m not just a number on a page or a kid in a seat, I’m a person that is genuinely cared about. My freshman year, I had Dr. Kenneth Tiller for Advanced Composition and that class was not only fun but very memorable. Dr. Tiller had us fiercely debating against each other one day and the next we would be working together on group projects. This created a very interesting dynamic to say the least! Since then, I have seized every opportunity to take other classes offered by Dr. Tiller and I look forward to more unforgettable experiences that I know I will have here at UVA-Wise.

My name is Ronald Groves but my friends call me Ronnie. I am a current sophomore here at UVa-Wise and I am a Criminal Justice Major. I am a member of the Cavailer football team. I chose to attend UVa-Wise because of the change this area gives to students who are not from here. I also chose to be here because it was financially suitable for me and my mother. My most memorable experience and still is being able to say that i am a college athlete.

I am Caitlyn Boyd, a junior at UVa-Wise. I am a nursing major, an athletic trainer, and a freshmen mentor. I chose to attend UVa-Wise because of the small class sizes and the feeling of family you get when you set foot on campus. My favorite class so far has been aerobics. My favorite professor is Dr. Zylawy.

I am Kara Collins, a senior at UVa-Wise! I am majoring in Communication Studies and a member of the Student Government Association. I am also the Vice President of the Student Ambassador Program. I chose to attend UVa-Wise because it is affordable and I am able to have a close relationship with my peers and professors. It is also in my hometown which does not require me to travel very far in order to attend my classes! My favorite professor at UVa-Wise is head of the Communication Department and my advisor, Dr. Tighe. My favorite class i have taken at UVa-Wise is Ms. Pinder's Conflict Managment class where we were able to do several in-class activities such as role playing in order to learn the material we were working on at the time. My most memorable experience of my college career thus far was the opportunity to travel to Disney World with my fellow cheerleaders in 2008 to compete at College Nationals.

I am Tereva Hamlett, a junior at UVa-Wise. I am majoring in Business Administration and a member of Habitat for Humanity organization. I chose to attend UVa-Wise because I wanted to be part of a small school far away from home, where professors actually know who you are and you can receive more help rather that being a number. Also the College is part of the town's community where everyone is kind, generous and helpful. My favorite class is Principles of Marketing because it is the area I would like to pursue a career. My most memorable experience is the fun times I have on campus and off with my new friends.

I am Megan McCoy. I am a senior at UVa-Wise! I am majoring in Administration of Justice and a member the softball team, Theta Phi Alpha , Student Government Association, Freshman Mentors, Gamma Sigma Alpha, Pre-Law society, and Teammates for Life. I chose to attend UVa-Wise because of the athletics and it was in the mountains, something completely different than Virginia Beach.

Hey everyone, my name is Sarah Goldman and I am a sophomore at UVa-Wise. I am a nursing major wanting to work with children. I chose UVa-Wise because this school fits me. It is completely different to what I am used to and I couldn't imagine myself anywhere else. I am involved in the creation of a new fraternity on campus, intramural sports as well as the Ambassador Program of course! This is my second year in the Ambassador program and I look forward to seeing how many new people I meet on this year's journey!

I am Evan Nunery a sophomore from Chester Virginia. I am a Music Major, Psychology Minor. I am a member of Pi Kappa Phi Fraternity. I chose to attend UVa-Wise because I really liked the fact that everything was in walking distance and that everyone (the staff, students and citizens of Wise) are extremely friendly and welcoming. My favorite professor at Wise is Dr. Volk (music) because of his ability to understand his students adn his personable style of teaching.

I am Adrienne Womack, a senior at UVa-Wise! I am majoring in Administration of Justice and minoring in Psychology. I am also a member of the Cavaliers Women's Basketball team, Student Ambassador Program, Freshman Mentor, as well as the Pre-Law Society. I chose to attend UVa-Wise because I think it is at UVa-Wise where I can fully excel both academically and athletically.

I am Rachel Thompson, Sophomore at UVa-Wise! I am majoring in Biology and I am from Big Stone Gap I chose to attend UVa-Wise because it has a strong Natural Science department and it was close to home. My most memorable experiences at UVA Wise were all the nights my friends and I went to watch the comedians on campus.

My name is Olivia Stallard. I am a junior at The University of Virginia’s College at Wise. I am from Coeburn, VA, and graduated as valedictorian in 2008. I am a biology major and plan to attend dental school after graduation. This is my second year serving as a student ambassador. I am also a member of the pre-professional club and a chemistry tutor for UVA-Wise. I am an active volunteer for The Health Wagon and Virginia Dental Health Association’s Mission of Mercy project. I will be traveling to Belize this spring with UVA-Wise for a medical missions trip.

My name is Aryca Wynn and I am a senior here at UVa-Wise. I am a Chemistry major and plan to graduate in the spring. I am Vice President of Habitat for Humanity and a returning Ambassador.
