Always the attention whore, James also was afforded the opportunity to film a television show in partnership with Royal Purple and Gillman Subaru, driving a 2011 Subaru STI sedan against a Mitsubishi Evolution. Not only did he win the matchup, but won overall against 19 other drivers and supercars. His video went viral and created the most stir on the internet, proving that fast driving and good-natured attitude can be just as popular as bad-boy antics, but with less fallout. This persona drives James in the future as a driver and entertainer, drawing fans and sponsors to follow his career!
James Wilson, born in Huntington Beach and claiming roots in San Diego, California, has been racing cars since 1999. He is known for breaking out of the norm and building unusual and rare cars. Some call him fickle, but this outside-the-box thinking and ability to try new things has netted him some impressive wins: in 2008, he won the SCCA ProSolo Super Challenge at Wendover, UT in a $500 Ford Escort. Seeing the opportunity to try an unknown quantity, he also won the Super Challenge at Blytheville, AR in 2011 in a brand-new Subaru WRX.
