* 55 novels published by such houses as HarperPaperbacks, St. Martin's, Zebra and Berkley.
* 1 nonfiction book published.
* Numerous articles in national magazines.
What it costs
• $2 per page for short stories and articles. Minimum $25.
• $600-$1,000 for a novel or nonfiction book, depending on length, time required, etc.
Service and convenience
I will handle submissions on paper or disk via snail mail — a k a the U.S. Postal Service — or electronically via the Internet at JltextWorks_gmail.com.
I use a Macintosh, but I can accept IBM disks in WordPerfect or Microsoft Word.
Turnaround time — how quickly I can get your work back to you — will generally be one to two weeks for a short piece, three weeks to a month for a book-length work. Times may be faster or slower, depending on the amount of work I have, as well as the length and quality of your manuscript.
I will . . .
· Offer a minimum 2- to 4-page critique, with suggestions, for short stories; a minimum 6- to 10 page critique, with suggestions, for novellas; and a minimum 20-page critique, with suggestions, for novels.
· This is, of course, in addition to the technical editing.
I won't . . .
· Make any promise that you will be published. I am not an agent or book packager. What I can do for you is improve your writing. The rest is up to you.
· Do Literary works, poetry or religious material.
