As a member of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod
we teach and respond to the love of the Triune God: the Father, creator of all that exists; Jesus Christ, the Son, who became human to suffer and die for the sins of all human beings and to rise to life again in the ultimate victory over death and Satan; and the Holy Spirit, who creates faith through God's Word and Sacraments. The three persons of the Trinity are coequal and coeternal, one God.
We strive to follow the example of Jesus who loved us and cared for us, by caring for others, using both material and spiritual resources to care for those who are suffering or in need.
As a respected leader in the field of Education, we place great emphasis on instruction in the Word and we believe that education should address the whole person--body, mind, and spirit--in an system that starts in early childhood, is emphasized through the elementary and high school years and continues throughout a church worker's professional life. Join us for sharing the joy of the Lord through worship and teaching.

Our congregation accepts and teaches Bible-based teachings of Martin Luther that inspired the reformation of the Christian Church in the 16th century. The teaching of Luther and the reformers can be summarized in three short phrases: Grace alone, Faith alone, Scripture alone.
Grace alone
God loves the people of the world, even though they are sinful, rebel against Him and do not deserve His love. He sent Jesus, His Son, to love the unlovable and save the ungodly.
Faith alone
By His suffering and death as the substitute for all people of all time, Jesus purchased and won forgiveness and eternal life for them. Those who hear this Good News and believe it have the eternal life that it offers. God creates faith in Christ and gives people forgiveness through Him.
Scripture alone
The Bible is God's inerrant and infallible Word, in which He reveals His Law and His Gospel of salvation in Jesus Christ. It is the sole rule and norm for Christian doctrine.
Pastors Corner
Our Pastor - Rev. Dr. Donald Hackbarth
Pastor Hackbarth was called to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in 1978 and has been our Pastor ever since. He graduated from Concordia Theological Seminary in May 1978 and has been at Good Shepherd his entire ministry.
Pastor Hackbarth is married to Beverly and has three children, Timothy, Michael, Rebekah, and 3 grandchildren . Pastor Hackbarth was born and grew up in Milwaukee Wisconsin. He served his country in the Army from 1962-1968. He was an engineer in Milwaukee with an Associates degree in Metallurgy and a Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Milwaukee School of Engineering.
In 1974 Pastor Hackbarth left Milwaukee with Bev and baby Tim and entered the Seminary at Springfield, Illinois. He served his vicarage in Itasca, Illinois, in 1976. During that year the Springfield Seminary moved to Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Pastor Hackbarth graduated from there in 1978. Pastor Hackbarth received his Doctorate in counseling from Trinity Evangelical Seminary in 1995. His doctoral paper was entitled "Marriage Counseling: A Study of Various Methods of Counseling and the Development of a Marriage Manual for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church." Pastor Hackbarth has been using his counseling skills in the Kenosha area for many years.
Pastor has been active in community government for many years. He is the Chaplain of the Pleasant Prairie Fire and Rescue Department and is the secretary of the Village Plan Commission. He has served on the Parks Commission and as a baseball coach for the Pleasant Prairie baseball league. He has officiated at numerous civic functions such as blessing and dedicating Lake Andrea, blessing many new buildings, fire and rescue equipment, and businesses that have moved into the area.
If there were three thoughts to describe the ministry of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church the first words would be "A Faithful people
called to love Jesus Christ and serve
their neighbor." The second would be "A stable congregation that has grown steadily over the past three decades." The
third would be "A collection of God's people who dearly love each other." We invite you to our Church and open our doors to the Good Shepherd experience.
Education
History:
Good Shepherd Lutheran Grade School was established in 2004. Each year a grade was added to accommodate the previous students. The plan is to have a full grade school here at Good Shepherd from kindergarten through eighth grade.
Purpose:
Good Shepherd Lutheran School prepares children not only academically but the Christ centered educational experience prepares them to be loving examples of Christ in this world. We provide an educational environment to impact the whole child with a Christ-like approach. Starting with our preschool our children learn and develop within the SPECS, that is social, physical, emotional, cognitive, and spiritual skills. We challenge the SPECS development of all children in a setting that nurtures the gifts that each child possesses. Our children are challenged to stretch both their minds and hearts. Good Shepherd is a school that allows for both personal growth and development in academics with an educational experience that is rooted in a Christian foundation.
Benefits:
• Individual attention for
optimum performance
•
Strong, caring classroom
discipline that works
•
Opportunity for every child to shine
•
