Welcome to the Home of the International Plastic Modellers Society Christchurch (Inc)
The Christchurch branch of I.P.M.S was formed back in 1987 from the former Christchurch Military Modelling Society (CMMS) which started back in 1977.
I.P.M.S (Chch) is made up of a small but friendly group of members of all ages who enjoy meeting and talking about their interest in the modelling world, ranging from Aircraft to Armour, Figurines to Ships, Motor Vehicles and Sci Fi.

When and Where Do We Meet?
The club meets regularly on the second Sunday of every month between 1:00pm and 4:00pm.
In the Kellaway Lounge, The Woolston Club, 43 Hargood Street, Woolston, Christchurch.
Latest Meeting News From Our Latest Meeting:
The February meeting was well attended with a very good turn out, many members and some visitors attending and more importantly a lot of models on the tables.
This months theme was "Heavy Haulers". This was well supported and there were some very big models on display including a 1/24th Mosquito and a 1/48th C130 Hercules.
The meeting was again held at the Woolston Club, in the Kellaway Lounge and will be held there until further notice. This is a great venue with plenty of room and great facilities.
At next months meeting we will be holding our first competition for the year, The Wittman Trophy for Military Vehicles. This has been postponed from its usual date in February. This is always popular so don't miss it.
At this stage St Matthews Church hall is out for our meetings due to them being one of the only church's still standing so it is very busy with a lot of extra poeple going there. It has also been passed on that some people are not getting emails, we are working on sorting this out but please if your details change let us know so you can stay informed.
Remember there are always a variety of kits, books, magazines and sometimes the odd rare item for sale or trade.

2012 Group Build
The Club Group Build 2012 is "The Desert"
You can enter any Ship, Vehicle, Figure or Aircraft, of any scale, that saw service or came from a desert at any time. Your entry needs to be finished by the Club Competition in November and there will be a Group Build table to display the progress of your entries at each meeting.

ABOUT What is I.P.M.S Christchurch about:
IPMS (Chch) holds meetings every month which include general interest topics, theme's and modelling technique demos but the underlying wish is to meet with like minded people who enjoy the very fun and interesting hobby of scale modelling.
The society runs an annual club competition in November with Gold, Silver, Bronze and Highly Commended ribbons awarded with the winners of a Gold award going into the running for the Best in Show.
The club also has annual trophies for :
Vehicles, The Wittman Battle Trophy , held in February.
Figures, The Grenadier Trophy , held in May and
Aircraft, The Kitty Hawk Trophy, held in August.
These are all major events within the club calender but are fairly low key events so please don't be put off from bringing along anything to compete. The only stipulation is you must be a financial member to enter.
We encourage visitors to attend in the hope that they may also wish to join and share in the benefits that memberships brings. There is no obligation to join at any time but this is encouraged to gain in the benefits that the club offers.
Subscriptions:
Annual membership is NZ $ 30.00 for Adults and Families and NZ $ 20.00 for Juniors (aged 17 years and under).
Subscription period is MAY 1st to APRIL 31st. To encourage members to renew on time, the subscription will be discounted by NZ $ 5.00 if paid by the July club meeting. So that's NZ $ 25.00 for Adults and Families, NZ $ 15.00 for Juniors, BUT ONLY if paid by JULY. This discounted price applies to all members regardless of date joined.
