Welcome to the Home of the
The Christchurch branch of I.P.M.S was formed back in 1987 from the former Christchurch Military Modelling Society (CMMS) which started back in 1977.
I.P.M.S (Chch) is made up of a small but friendly group of members of all ages who enjoy meeting and talking about their interest in the modelling world, ranging from Aircraft to Armour, Figurines, Ships, Motor Vehicles and Sci Fi.
Please feel free to drop in on one of our meetings for a look and have a cup of tea or coffee with us. Please take a look at the other pages on this site for more information.
When do we meet?
The society meets regularly on the second Sunday of every month between 1:00pm and 4:00pm, in the hall at the rear of St Matthew's church, 145 Cranford Street, St Albans, Christchurch.
News from our last meeting:
Welcome to the first update for 2010. We had a great start to the year with many models on the table and lots of familiar face's and some new one's coming along to see what happens, it was great to see some new people coming along and even better to see the kits that they brought with them.
This month's theme as it is every year in January was Under Construction, this as usual brought out all sorts of kits that people have been working on over the holidays (and from a few previous holidays also) There were many aircraft, ships, figures, tanks, train wagons and much more, a really great turn out by all, Glynn even had his first ever none flying type kit to show off!!
A small updte on the club Group Build 2010. As was passed on last month it is Nightfighters and Recon but this can be any subject in either category. There will be 3 trophies this year, best Nightfighter, best Recon and best figure under these two subjects. So as an example you may have a vehicle, aircraft or figure as a recon or nightfighter subject. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask.
Remember our meetings are open to anyone, all welcome.
Next month's meeting:
Next Month's Meeting: 14th of February 2010, at the usual place and time.
Theme: "Stalingrad" This theme is was a major campaign during WWll so should bring out many interesting subjects for Feburary

IPMS (Chch) holds meetings every month which include general interest topics, theme's and modelling technique demos but the underlying wish is to meet with like minded people who enjoy the very fun and interesting hobby of scale modelling.
The society runs an annual club competition in November with Gold, Silver, Bronze and Highly Commended ribbons awarded with the winners of a Gold award going into the running for the Best in Show.
The club also has annual trophies for :
