I nterstate Christian Fellowship is a Spirit-filled non-denominational church who is all about loving Jesus and loving one another as a family in Christ. We worship in a casual and relaxed atmosphere with contemporary praise and worship songs welcoming the experience of spontaneous and prophetic worship. We worship and honor the Creator with creative expression such as worship with flags, painting, drumming, writing, media, dance and drama.
At Interstate, our hearts are set on an awakening in the Appalachian Mountains. We focus on the redemption of God's purposes in His people and in His land here in these mountains. We look forward to the Appalachian Mountains being set on fire with the glory of God . We are continually looking for our part in that Great Awakening and are diligent to put our hands to the plow. May He come quickly in a great revelation to the Southern Appalachian Mountains!
Prayer is an important part of ICF. We are involved in focused times of intercession, soaking, prayer walks, and prayer retreats. Prayer Mountain , located behind Pastor Darrell's home in Bristol, is open at all times to the community to come and pray. There, you can walk the trails or sit in the shelter of the trees and just commune with the Lord . It is an open-heaven kind of place full of natural and spiritual beauty.
We gather on Sunday mornings at the church located at Battle Hill Drive for worship, fellowship, and teaching. Our Wednesday evening gatherings are "out-of-the-box" times of small group fellowship. Wednesday evenings are a time of getting outside of the church and being the church in the community, whether that is having a drum circle in the local parks, a baptism and cook-out at the lake, taking a hike on the Appalachian Trail, or meeting as family in our homes to share a meal and enjoy times of refreshing study and discussion around various topics. If you would like to join us for a Wednesday evening meeting, please contact us and we will be more than happy to tell you what we are up to for the week.
Our Children's ministry is full of depth and fun. We have chidren's church after worship on Sunday mornings for ages 5 - 12, which involves teaching and occasional art classes. Our children join in with the family atmosphere on Wednesday evenings and are welcome to play and fellowship as kids do.
We are a growing church. Our future goals at ICF include hosting significant regional conferences and seminars which will shine forth the glory of God in the areas of revival, worship, Appalachian heritage, the prophetic, and the arts. We also have plans to host special classes and workshops which will equip the saints for the work of the ministry , preparing each one to use their talents and gifts for the Kingdom. We hope to begin a School of Ministry in the near future as well. Because we trust so deeply in the Father's heart to continually renew us , we will host renewal weekend retreats and camps for children and adults.
Senior leader Darrell Harmon is originally from Lebanon, VA. He has pastored for over 30 years in the Appalachian region and his heart's cry is to see God set these mountians on fire with His glory and to see transformation of this region. Darrell has an apostolic vision for the region which is rooted in his love for the mountains , its heritage , and the destiny that is unfolding . His ministry is one of encouragement and exhortation of faith and vision to prepare believers for the advancement of the Kingdom. He has a great desire to see the unsaved and the unchurched come to Christ for salvation and renewal.
