This outline intends to give

students knowledge in Internet and Web

design through HTML (Hypertext Markup

Language), JavaScript and Visual Web Developer

2008 Express Edition authoring. The purpose of this

course is to teach students to design and upload their own

web pages down to the construction of web site. Students will

learn how to use basic to complex HTML formatting codes and

scripting languages to display the words, pictures, and even music to

Websurfers. The course will also cover the mechanics of uploading and

linking to other interesting sites on the World Wide Web. As part of the

course students will be given the opportunity to design and upload the

created web pages or web site to any free server sites.

In addition, this course presents introductions to many of the basic

concepts, issues and techniques related to designing, developing and deploying Web sites over the Internet. During the course, students will learn about Web design, HTML, XHTML, basic JavaScript, Dynamic HTML, and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS). Students will learn how to create sites both manually, Graphical User Interface (GUI) Web developer and through the use of Web site development software.

Lastly, this course brings together all of the elements of web site

design, graphics, animation, data storage in the construction of fully functional

commercial web site applications. The use of industry

standard software products and end to end construction

will be emphasized.

Express Edition is an introductory course to the

fast growing industry of Web site design and

development. This course will provide students with a

solid understanding of the entire Web site development

process. Students will learn to use basic and advanced web

coding to design and publish Web sites. Throughout this course,

students will be encouraged to use the Internet to aid in the learning

process.

The core objective of this course is to develop abilities to understand

the issues and to critically interpret the diverse viewpoints regarding

possible futures for the Internet and for the construction of web site, by:

 developing an unde rstanding of existing and futures techniques and

approaches, including the limitations and applications of Internet and web

page design;

 exploring a range of perspectives and styles of how various web masters

and web programmers approach futures studies and to become

acquainted with the futures World Wide Web literature;

 gaining experiences with techniques and

technologies that should be useful in the

student own future.
