Home Project Idea and Aim
Intercultural competence is one of the most important prerequisites for successful integration of people from different cultural backgrounds into the unified European labour market. More often than before even very young people leave their countries to study, work, and on exchange. They face a series of problems in the process of adaptation to new environments. Many difficulties and complications of this process can be avoided, if the young people are receiving competent, considerate and appropriate support from their families, and, most importantly, their parents.
The aim of this project is to study the best ways of assisting parents in development of their intercultural competence, with the goal to enhance the support of their children who have left their countries. Intercultural competence of parents may cause a great positive impact developing their children's ability to successfully communicate and interact with people from different backgrounds.
