SUPPLIES LIST
Dear Parents,
I am excited to introduce myself as the new principal at the International High School. It is both an honor and a pleasure for me to be back in New Orleans serving our community. As a loving father of seven, I am both professionally and personally invested in ensuring all children have access to a high quality education. As an educator, who has served students in five urban school districts, I am bringing my passion and commitment to student success to our International High School.
Our school year will begin Tuesday, September 7, 2010, the day after Labor Day and our school day will run from 8:45 am to 4:45 pm. We will offer an additional club/enrichment/intervention period from 4:45-6:00 daily.
During the month of August, our newly hired, highly qualified, and super passionate staff will be dedicating their time to training in Advanced Placement Coursework, the International Baccalaureate Program, the International Business Program, general school instructional preparation, and school policies. We are now fully staffed with certified teachers and support staff who are all ready to do whatever it takes to ensure our students are supported toward success. I am happy to announce that our new school website is just about complete and will be available at IHSNOLA.org. Our new telephone number is 504.835.0080 and my email address is Anthony_IHSNOLA.org.
On a final note, we are still accepting applications for 9th and 10th grade students. If you know any student entering 9th or 10th grade that is looking for a rigorous college preparatory academic program, please refer them to the International High School. The opportunity to enroll for this year closes on September 30th.
In closing, I want to again thank the board and parents of the International High School for affording me the honor to serve our students.
Respectfully,
Anthony Amato
