Below is the officer application for 7th graders who would like to be officers in 8th grade. Also is the Goose Story. This story shows how Geese work together as a team and how they care for other geese in the flock.

Student Government Officer Responsibilities
All officers should be responsible students who can maintain a C Average in all classes, complete all home and class assignments (unless there are extenuating circumstances), and do not receive referrals to the office ( no more than 3 referrals and could be no more than 1 depending on the infraction).
Mission of Student Government:
To develop school leadership through enhancement of school spirit, “espirit de corps” by organizing an athletic pep rally, raising funds for the school and charities, holding student dances, and sponsoring a school talent show.
President
President is responsible for running Student Government Meetings and making sure all our endeavors are:
1. In alignment with our mission.
2. Efficiently implemented.
The president is to meet with his/her officers once prior to every meeting to plan meetings and activities. This means during lunch, 9th period, or after school. Passes will be made available.
The President should be someone who likes to make decisions by reaching consensus, is persuasive, can command a group, is sensitive to the feelings of others, and is good at follow through with commitments.
Vice President
The Vice President supports the president and is available to fill in for the president. The Vice President is responsible for also makes sure that the dance Checklist is completed.
The Vice President should be someone who has most but not all of the qualities listed above for the president and has good organizational skills.
Secretary
The Secretary drafts the meeting agendas, organizes the drafting and distribution of Thank You notes, and records necessary information during meetings.
The Secretary should be someone who is organized, writes well, and has good handwriting.
Treasurer
The Treasurer keeps records of our expenses and income, coordinates the counting of income, sets up boxes for ticket sales, supervises collection on Pennies for Patients,
The Treasurer should be organized and good with math. One of the three teacher recommendations should be from a math teacher
Spirit Leaders
The Spirit Leaders organize and run the pep rallies, creation of posters, collection of decorations, and other school spirit activities.
Spirit Leaders should be dynamic individuals who have a strong interest in their school.
Public Relations Chairman
The Public Relations Chairman must be computer expert and obtain a recommendation from Mr. Lefkovich or Mr. Morris.
Earth Day Garden Chairman
The Earth Day Garden Chairman must have helped with the Earth Day Garden last year and have a strong interest in the environment. This chairman must obtain a recommendation from Mrs. Sachs or Mrs. Johnson.
