Larissa spent the first year and a half of her life on a tour bus. Her father, Leon Lundstrom, was a drummer for his brother, Lowell Lundstrom’s band. At the age of one and half, her father went back to farm in South Dakota with her grandfather. Larissa’s earliest memories are on that farm in South Dakota. She used to ride around in the tractor with her dad listening to George Strait… this is where she first fell in love with Country music. She also spent much of her childhood in Wisconsin with her maternal grandparents. Her grandfather was a horse trader and used to have rodeos on his ranch there. She was born with country and music in her blood.

Larissa graduated from high school and decided to go to school for music performance. She graduated from North Central University in Minneapolis, MN. Larissa was planning on heading to Nashville to pursue her music career, but she was side-tracked by meeting her now ex-husband that very summer. They were married soon after.

Then in June of 2009, she discovered he was having an affair. She tried to stand for her marriage and was willing to work things out, but he did not want to work on the marriage. She was completely devastated and didn’t want to live anymore. With the support of her friends and family and most importantly her faith in God, she made it through. Larissa told God if He brought her through she would shout it from the rooftops that YES, you can make it through an affair and YES, there is still life to be lived after it!

Larissa began writing songs for this album in the fall of 2009 during the midst of her hurt and then continued to write through her recovery. The album was written with the design of bringing people through the despair and devastation of a loss to the hope and peace of life and a future.

I n the spring of 2011, Larissa fulfilled one of her life-long dreams to record in Nashville. The album was released 11/11/11. She is so excited to have her final product, and she prays that it brings people the hope and peace that God has given her.

It Ain't Gonna Be Like This Forever It Ain't Gonna Be Like This ForeverDuring the midst of my recovery so to speak, I was at work in the bathroom standing at the sink, and this thought came to me that “It’s not gonna be like this forever.” I just started singing and sang the entire chorus right away. I wasn’t sure about the words “clouds gonna roll right on by.” I was planning on changing them, but they ended up staying because they made sense. I got together with my friend Tyson, and the words to the verses got written.

Didn't You Love Me Didn't You Love MeIn the first part of the year of 2010, I was driving someplace in my truck. I am always thinking about something, and frequently those thoughts turn to song ideas. This was one of those songs that just comes to you. I started singing the words that were coming to me, and the entire first verse and chorus were written within just moments a truly God-given song. I drove to South Dakota 3 different times to songwrite with my first producer’s wife, Connie, and this is one of the songs we completed together. I think everybody who has ever been left by someone that they loved would like to ask the question, “Didn’t You Love Me?”

Lovable LovableDuring the summer of 2009 when my world started to unravel, I was at home one night when my husband didn’t come home. I hadn’t slept all night wondering about where he was and waiting up for him hoping he would walk through the door. At about 5:00 in the morning, after not sleeping all night, my parents called me and told me to drive over to their house. I hopped in my vehicle hurting so badly. I cried the whole drive to my parents place. I walked inside the door, and here I was 30 years old getting in bed with my parents. I laid next to my dad, and he put his arm around me. I remember asking my dad the question, “Dad, am I lovable?” My dad said, “Of course, you’re lovable Larissa.”The reason I asked him that question is because when your husband leaves you for someone else… the last thing you feel is lovable. You feel like you must have the plague and be completely unlovable or he wouldn’t have walked away. I wanted to write a song from this experience that I had been through. My dad was there to tell me that I was lovable, but there are so many people who don’t have an earthy father to tell them they are lovable. But everyone of us has a Heavenly Father who loves us unconditionally no matter what. I got together with my friend Connie, and we wrote this song together. There are many reasons in life why people feel unlovable. I wanted to incorporate more than just a husband walking away so the first verse is written about a child who was given up or thrown away by a parent. My prayer is that the love of God sweeps over you as you listen to this song, and you realize how LOVED YOU ARE!.

God's Still On The Throne God's Still On The ThroneThis song was written in the basement of my house about two days after my ex-husband moved out. My world had come completely crashing down, and I was just surviving at the time… and barely surviving at that. As broken as I was, I knew that God was still in control. He knew exactly where I was at, and He was right there with me. I thought of when the disciples were out on the boat with Jesus, and there was a storm. The disciples were running around frantic and scared, and then they asked where Jesus was. And where was He… in the bottom of the boat sleeping with His head on a pillow as I like to say. He wasn’t scared or worried because He knew how it all was going to turn out… He was at peace. My friend John came over, and I told him I wanted to write a song about how God was still on the throne. No matter where you are at or how bad you think the circumstances are… God IS still on the throne. It is my prayer that you receive His peace and trust that all things work together for them that love Him and are called according to His purpose. It may not turn out exactly how you think it should… but He will turn it all around for your good if you allow Him too… even the worst of circumstances.

I Laughed Again I Laughed AgainFrom the moment things started to unravel in my marriage, I couldn’t find happiness or laughter in anything. I went for almost 3 months without smiling or laughing at all. No matter how funny something was or how happy I maybe should have found something, I couldn’t smile at all let alone laugh. I remember the first time I laughed again after not laughing for so long. I don’t remember what I laughed at, but I remember laughing… and it felt SOOOOOOO GOOD!!! I was like I guess there is still life to be lived, and I’m so happy to be alive!!!I was talking with my boss on the way out to South Dakota to write, and we were talking about her daughter whose husband cheated on her too. I started talking with her about this story about when I laughed again, and I thought I’m gonna have to write a song about laughing again. And so I did :-)If you are in a period in life, where all of your smiles and laughter have been taken away… HOLD ON!!! There is laughter and there are smiles to come! You will laugh again, and you will smile again… DON’T GIVE UP!!! There is happiness to come!

I Feel Better When I Sing I Feel Better When I SingThere is not a huge backstory behind this song except… I knew that I personally felt better when I sing, and I was pretty sure there were others out there who felt the same way. I got together with my friend Tyson to write this song. I was super excited when we wrote the second verse because I love George Strait! And of course… I love my truck! So what could be better than listening to the king of country music and riding around in my truck! :-) :-) :-)

I've Been There Too I've Been There TooI actually was working one day when I started talking to this lady. The roles were actually reversed though. I was already divorced and well on my way to healing, and she was the one whose husband had just left her for another woman. I told her that I knew where she was at because I had been there too. I thought that’s a great idea for a song. The song just seemed to write a little better if I wrote it from her standpoint as opposed to mine. The truth of the matter is though that I did talk to different ladies while I was going through my struggle, and their words of encouragement did help me out so much. So the words really do ring true to me even though the story line was tweaked just a little bit. They made it… I made it… and YOU’RE GONNA MAKE IT TOO!!!

I Forgive You I Forgive YouThis was one of the most important songs for me to write on my album. There are so many cheating songs written that talk about revenge or getting even. True healing only comes though when we are able to forgive and let go of the bitterness. I wanted to give the other side of the story… what can happen when we forgive. I am not saying we agree with bad behavior of those who need to be forgiven, but that we understand that to not forgive only keeps us in prison. It doesn’t do a thing to the person you aren’t forgiving. It only eats at you from the inside out. My mom always used to tell me, “but for the grace of God there go I.” This is so true. It is easy for us to judge others actions, but we didn’t walk their walk so we have no idea how we would or would not handle their situations. As hard as it may be to believe, I really do forgive my ex-husband. I still feel hurt sometimes when I think about what he did, but not because I haven’t forgiven him but just because they are hurtful memories. I wish my ex-husband the best in life, and I hope he leads a full, healthy, prosperous life. I can say that I will always love him even though I am not “in-love” with him anymore. When I was able to truly forgive, such freedom came over my life, and the past wasn’t holding me back anymore. I was free to move on to the next stage of life and the future that God had/has for me! Yeah!!! Whether somebody has hurt you emotionally, spiritually, physically or financially, my prayer is that this song helps bring you to the place of the freedom to forgive.

Only God Knows Only God KnowsMy friends Tyson, Brandon and I were over at Brandon’s house to write. We knew we were going to write a duet. I had wanted to write a duet from the standpoint of the two people not being in love yet and still in the search for love. I had an initial idea that I had wanted to go with, but in the course of starting to work that idea out, Tyson said, “Only the moon knows.” I said, “Tyson, I’m not singing some song about only the moon knowing. I’ll sing a song about how only God knows but not how only the moon knows.” Brandon then said, “That’s a great hook! Only God knows.” I said, “I love it! Let’s write about that.” And so we did :-)

Witness Stand Witness StandMy ex was not exactly what I thought he was or who he portrayed himself to be. This next time around I don’t want to have somebody try to be what they think I want them to be. I want somebody to just be who they are, and if it works then it works. Nobody should have to change who they are for somebody else. Now if somebody choses to change themselves for themselves then that’s a different story, but they shouldn’t try to do it for somebody else. Once you get married and all the newness wears away, people’s true colors come out. I say because the true colors are going to come out in the end then let the true colors and who you really are show now… that way nobody on either side is surprised. There’s nothing like walking down the aisle and feeling like you got hoodwinked. There is also a big difference between the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. You need all three to really encompass what the truth really is which is why they make you say all three on the witness stand. I think everybody can say they would like to marry somebody who has true integrity and is who they say they are… Amen!

I Feel Yellow I Feel YellowPeople use the color blue to describe feeling sad or down. I was thinking how cool it would be to give emotions to other colors of the rainbow. The song used to talk about some other colors too, but my first producer and his wife decided it should just encompass the color yellow. I think Brian was biased because he was driving a yellow Ducati at the time so he was thinking about his bike when he wrote the song. I completely love the concept of the feeling of the color yellow being happy and upbeat. I hope this song chases away all your rain too :-) Even though rain is my favorite weather… lol!

For Who I Am For Who I AmI think everybody can relate to this song. After being loved for reasons other than who I was, I decided this time around I wanted to be loved for who I am. Attraction is important in a relationship because you do have to wake up next to them in the morning, but the physical attraction should just be a bonus to the connection that your souls have. And how many people are loved because of how much money they have or because of what they can do for somebody. As a society, we should value people not for what they look like, not for how wealthy they are, and not because of what they can do for us… but solely because of who they are! Everybody should be treated with decency and respect no matter what their status in life. Our souls live forever… and the rest fades away. I wanna be loved for who I am! How about you?

Where I'm Going Where I'm GoingWhere the whole album began. During the fall of 2009, I knew that I wanted this album to come to life. I wanted an album that took somebody through the emotions of a break-up or a loss, and would be able to bring them through to hope. My sister suggested the title, “Past, Present, Future,” and I said that’s a great idea! Then I said you know what would be even better would be, “Where I Was, Where I Am, and Where I’m Going.” I knew right then that I would have songs on the album that fit into each category, and a song actually by that name. Well both names got shorted to just, “Where I’m Going,” but the concept was still the same.I went over to my friend Brandon’s house with Tyson, and I explained to them what I wanted the song to be able. I went into the details of my story a bit. I was telling them how during that time I wanted to go to sleep, and prayed that God would just take me home to heaven with him instead of waking up in the morning. I didn’t think there was anything left to live for. I thought any chance of happiness or joy in live was over. I said my heart wasn’t in a million pieces it was just dust, but that God took that dust and formed a heart out of it again. He gave me back the will to live and excitement about the future He has for my life. It was out of that dialogue that we pulled the words to the song. Every song on the album is an autobiography of sorts, but none more than this song encompasses my life over the last 2 years better. This truly is… where I was… where I am… and where I’m going.
