BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU

MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) teaches that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using leverage and proper techniquemost notably by applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the other person. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self defence. Sparring (commonly referred to as 'rolling') and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through the grades/belts.At WMA, members are under the guidance of Australian Elite Team members Michael Tohme and Nam Bisso. Michael and Nam are students of BJJ Black Belt Ninos Dammo, with both being very active and successful in the competition circuit.Classes offer A structured curriculum Techniques and skills that are developed and practiced under close supervision Training that is constantly monitored and assessed Improved fitness, speed, reactions and confidence
MUAYTHAI is one of the fastest and easiest sports to learn in the world.With that in mind the syllabus has been structured in such a way to provide a gradual progression from beginner(white) through the 5 colour logos(yellow, orange, blue, green & brown) before the student obtains their 1st Degree(Black Belt equivalent).Muaythai is a high-energy martial art that teaches students to develop maximum power with every technique. Although it is an explosive art that has techniques of unparalleled devastation, you can train purely for fitness or aim towards competition if that becomes your desire.Win Yaan Nak Muay is always evolving! With regular visits now made to Thailand to ensure that our skills, techniques and training methods are at the forefront of development, you can rest assured that you are learning the true skills that define Muaythai as the worlds most devestating martial art!
Now YOU can learn the skills needed to compete in Mixed Martial Arts. Learnt in a controlledenvironment, you will gain skills in stand-up fighting, takedowns & takedown defences and groundfighting.At WMA our Westside MMA program is a complete learning syllabus that has been developed by our 3 coaches. Why is Westside MMA different? Instead of just bringing together students from different backgrounds, our program sets about teaching people a complete MMA skillset right from their first class . From striking and the clinch, through to the takedowns and ground game, students develop a well rounded game formulated from our 3 disciplines - Muay Thai, BJJ and Wrestling. The class is predominately drill based and has high work rate to ensure we have the fitness to remain technically sharp for a full bout.The MMA classes comprise a close knit group of students with a proactive attitude to training and learning as well as strong team environment. When our team mates improve, so do we as individuals.If your aim is a well rounded skillset or you have desires to step into the ring, our MMA program will have you achieve your goals!

The Little Warriors martial arts program is good, clean fun for kids and a great way to give your child a head start in life. Our program is an excellent way for children to gain life skills that have a positive influence in their home, school and social interactions. You're up against a huge battle. You have got all sorts of things like Power Rangers, Ben10, Nintendo and Playstations out there influencing your child. Little Warriors gives children ages six to twelve a positive way to investigate their interests into the martial arts. The class is structured around Thailands national sport, the Martial Art of Muay Thai. Along with physical fitness your child will learn respect, discipline, self confidence and how to overcome insecurities. We focus on positive attitudes and personal growth of each individual child.The fun side of martial artsThere is much more to martial arts than punching and kicking and we know it is important to make sure this is something your child wants to do, not something they have to do. In addition to fun and exciting martial arts classes, we have opportunities for the kids to challenge themselves and put their skills to the test in competition if they desire. You will feel at ease knowing your child is in a safe environment doing things that are constructive and good for them.Program Goals for each child Be RESPECTFUL of not only other people but of themselves. Be CONFIDENT enough in themselves to not feel intimidated or out of place Be HUMBLE enough not to be bullies, but secure enough to stick up for themselves Be physically CAPABLE of defending themselves as well as playing games, sports or any activity they choose. We stock products from top brands like Outlaw Fight Gear, Scivation, CytoSport and BNRG, We have the supplies you need! Gloves, wraps, shin guards, shorts, t-shirts, proteins and pre-workouts! All products are sold at discounted retail price.
We have Cardio Conditioning group fitness classes and for those that are a bit more hardcore we have strength & conditioning classes using "CAVEMAN METHODS". These are run by Alana Wyatt. If you have any enquiries please direct them via our contact form.
