To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the Spirit of heaviness; that they might be called TREES OF RIGHTEOUSNESS, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified."
ABOUT US
About Us
The TREE Project is designed to reach the inner city population and bring total transformation to the whole person. We believe people are made up of a spirit, soul, and body. All three of these parts need to be reached in order to make a person whole. T.R.E.E. is an acronym that stands for Train- Restore- Educate- & Empower. Trees in general are deeply grounded and provide what we, as people, need to breathe. Someone trying to escape the heat of the day can stand under a tree for shade. Trees can also be a place of rest. Our programs within this project focus on training in the areas of graffiti art, dance, filmmaking, exercise and nutrition, worship, photography, and after school tutorials. We, as living trees, will become this resting place for those tired in life. We have run similar programs in urban communities since 2004 and have seen dramatic transformation in the lives of the people we have been connected with. Our love for people has taken us to places like detention centers, inner city schools, churches, theaters, competition events, nightclubs, prisons, drug/rehab treatment centers, and other venues all across the United States. In the past ten years our success has taken members of our project to over 45 different countries all over the world. What have we learned? People are hurting everywhere. Help us to be able to help others by sowing a financial seed, volunteering in any of our programs, or by spreading the news to thers. The TREE Project is under the umbrella of The Worship Experience. Church. All of your contributions are tax deductable. Please join us in our first annual gala on October the 22nd, 2011. We will have performances by Urgeworks Dance Crew, live music from The Worship Experience, dance by Mireya Gamez, live canvas painting by Mark Deleon, great food, and a silent auction. All procedes will go towards our programs.

PROGRAMS
MENTORINGMonday through Thursday we open up our 4,000 sq ft facility to the community to do after school tutoring from 3-6pm. We have many opportunities for volunteers to participate in this area. We also have our mentors contact their core group of teens on a regular basis for weekend outings, phone conversations, and frequent visits. DANCEOur dance programs are run by Corey Greene and Mireya Gamez. Corey speacializes in different styles of street dance while Mireya is Ballet and Modern Dance all the way. Teens can come and be a part of our regularly scheduled dance classes and also have the opportunity to audition to be a part of our performance company.ARTMark Deleon is our lead artist in residency. His passion is seeing teens grow from doodling and scribbling to implementing the laws of art in a professional way that would open up opportunities to become a full time artist. His past life style of tagging on walls with spray cans is a great part of his ability to meet urban teens where they are at. He has a heart to raise the standards of those he mentors to think bigger, reach higher, and go for your dreams. FILM MAKINGWe offer an amazing program for video arts that is run by Donte Housley. He covers a wide range of hands on instructional classes that include video capturing, editing, and the creation of commercials and short films. PHOTOGRAPHYNealette Douglas is our lead photographer who walks you through the process of learning photographic design and concepts, techniques for illustrative, photojournalism and portraiture presentations. She aspires for the youth to capture moments of life to build their own personal portfolios in pursuit of becoming professional photographers. Do you have the eye of a photographer? Come be a part of her program and let's find out!
