The Pad
KC Crash Pad is every Pilot's
first choice
in Kansas City. This 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bathroom home is very clean and quiet. The house is on a wooded lot and there is often wildlife including deer in the backyard. There is a spacious deck in the back with a full gas grill. KCCP amenities include WiFi, Premium Cable, Wii console with a wide variety of games, endless hot water, full size washer/dryer, full kitchen and comfortable living room/quiet areas.
The picture in the upper right hand corner is a shot of the front of the house. The pad is just minutes to MCI terminals/employee parking. Most pilots have a "crash pad car", or share one with another pilot.

How much is rent at KC Crash Pad, and is there a lease/contract?
There is no contract. There is a $100 non-refundable deposit. Your rent depends on your average nights needed per month, but is generally at or around $175/mo.
What things will I need to bring that are not provided by the Crash Pad?
You will need to provide your own set of twin sheets and a pillow. KCCP will provide your bed. You will need to provide your own towel, wash clothes, etc. . You will have access to a washer/dryer, but will need to provide your own detergent. An iron and ironing board are provided, if you use starch, you will need to provide it. The pilots at KCCP take turns buying toilet paper, paper towels, etc. . , so you will want to plan on buying this type of necessity every so often.
What are the rules on smoking, drinking, etc. . .?
Feel free to smoke on the deck or in the garage, just not inside the Crash Pad. There are chairs and space heaters in the garage. Drinking is permitted, but please be mindful that others may be trying to sleep, and please clean up after yourself! We're big on everyone being respectful of others at the pad, so don't over do it if you can't do so quietly.
How many people share a room?
This will depend on which room you are in. Some rooms may only have 2 beds, while others may have 4 or more bunk beds. Should you desire to change rooms, we always offer existing renters first crack at a vacancy.
Will I need to have a car in KC?
Some Pilots are able to get by without one, or by sharing a car. Most will look for an inexpensive car that will get them back and forth to the airport (this makes things a lot easier).
