MISSION

Each flower petal represents the

four primary cancers affecting Americans

We are a grassroots organization committed to eradicating cancer. We unite with our families, friends and neighbors to sponsor an annual Community Walk to raise funds for cancer research, as well as to help local cancer patients overcome financial difficulties associated with their cancer diagnosis.

Breast Cancer will affect 1 out of 8 women in the United States

GOALS

Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer death in

the United States amount every ethnic group.

The 4th Annual “Walk 4 Family and Friends with Cancer” will take place on Sunday, April 22 2012 at 8 A.M. at Connolly Park, Centennial Boulevard, Voorhees, NJ. Proceeds will benefit two (2) non-profit organizations; the Abramson Cancer Center at the University of Pennsylvania, as well as the Financial Assistance for Cancer Patient’s Program which provides financial assistance for local families affected by cancer. This fund was established by Samost Jewish Family and Children’s Service of Southern New Jersey (JFCS) to benefit cancer patients of all religious and ethnic denominations.

Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer

in the United States. More than 1 million

skin cancers are diagnosed annually.

Ovarian cancer accounts for more deaths

than any other female reproductive cancer.

HISTORY

In 2008, a dedicated group of South Jersey women participated in the Breast Cancer 3-Day Walk. This experience motivated them to seek additional ways to help those facing cancer. The 1st “Walk 4 Family and Friends with Cancer” was held to create awareness. Over the past 3 years we have raised just over $134,000 from walkers and sponsors. In 2011, we had an overwhelming turnout by our youth. which brought our registered walkers to over 750. Bring a friend this year.
