Our Story
About Audrey (as told by Kenny)Audrey is currently the Marketing Director for an IT & Telecom Company in Irvine called Business Communications Solutions (BCS). She handles all advertisement, public relations, corporate events, website & collateral design, social media, vendor relations, plus much more. Her co-workers call her the “go-to girl" because she is a problem-solver who dips her hands in every department and is always willing to help and find a solution. Audrey attended Cal Poly Pomona and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Communications and a Minor in International Business Marketing. In the recent years, she discovered her passion was not in the business world, but rather to help others. This past May 2011, she also received her M.A. in Teaching at Chapman University and when the economy picks up, she hopes to one day teach 5th grade or open up her own Day Care Center to prepare children for Pre-School and Kindergarten.Audrey loves to cook and try new and scrumptious cuisines. Not only does she like to eat the food, but she also likes to take pictures of it in an intimate restaurant with a bright flash and post it on facebook. Audrey loves things organized and notices when things aren’t in its exact place; she pretty much has OCD. She loves to spend nights dancing away or cuddling up with our French bulldog Rambo and watching her hundreds of recorded shows. Audrey is known to say what is on her mind and be pretty blunt about it. I guess that’s why all her friends call her for advice all the time because she will not sugar coat anything and speak the truth. She is like the modern day Oprah Winfrey. Besides eating new foods and exploring new places, Audrey is very smart and goal-oriented. She is always able to achieve whatever she sets her sights on with no problem. She worked full-time during the day while doing her master’s program full-time at night and finished in 2 years with a 4.0 GPA. She can pretty much do anything and already has our entire wedding planned, yet she always takes the time to help me revise my research papers, cook for me, teach our dog tricks, and help me figure out new things on my computer and the internet (yes I’m computer illiterate). It’s surprising how she does it all. This is why we are so good together. When Audrey comes home from a hard day at work I’ll be there to cheer her up with my good looks and humor. And when it comes time for me to act serious, all Audrey has to do is bat her pretty eyes and I still melt. It’s a match made in heaven.About Kenny (as told by Audrey)Kenny is a Registered Respiratory Therapist at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena and works in the NICU, PICU, and Adults departments. He studied at Mount San Antonio College and truly enjoys his work. He is saving lives every day and people are often surprised at what his profession is because of his personality. He has been called the “Baby Whisperer” at work because the nurses say he is great with the kiddos. His co-workers would also describe him as a “character” because of his constant joking and care-free personality. Kenny is also currently attending Western Governor’s University to obtain his B.S. in Business Management. He hopes to one day move up to a management position in the hospital. Kenny is known by his friends as “The Bully-Mammoth” because he is always cracking jokes at others’ expenses. Don’t let the hard exterior fool you though, because the more he makes fun of you, means the more he likes you, which is why I know he loves me the most. He always puts family first and can’t wait to have a family of his own. Kenny enjoys working out at the gym and has also recently taken up Mixed Martial Arts, with a focus on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. His friends are still mad at me for buying him classes on how to become an expert at beating them up. He is very active and enjoys playing football, basketball, snowboarding, and body-surfing (with the hopes of one day learning how to surf on an actual surfboard). He is a kid at heart who can play xBox or watch YouTube videos all day, but his favorite place to go is still Disneyland. Something you may not know about Kenny is that he likes to keep up with current events and celebrity gossip. He likes to respond in song lyrics and is the life of the party. Although Kenny is the opposite of me in that he is un-organized and likes spontaneity instead of planning ahead, his lax personality meshes well with me because we are always able to meet in the middle. I keep Kenny organized and Kenny keeps me sane. I’m pretty independent, but I still like to act like a brat sometimes or a “diva” in Kenny’s words. He knows how to deal with all versions of me (corny, whiny, OCD, controlling, etc). He always wants me to be happy, and goes out of his way to take care of me and the people he loves. He is always by my side, holding my hand and I know it’ll always be that way.How they met...Kenny and Audrey met back in 2003, when Audrey was a 2nd year at Cal Poly Pomona, and Kenny was finishing up Respiratory Therapist School at Mt. San Antonio College. Audrey went to school with Kenny's brother, Ian and best friend Marvin. Because of this, the two had ran into each other several times at college parties and always somehow gravitated towards each other.Kenny would always try to smooth talk Audrey, but he was a bit too much of a party animal back in those days. Kenny was the life of the party, always cracking jokes and didn't have a care in the world. Audrey on the other hand was the total opposite; very focused on school, needed to always have a plan, and worried about everything and everyone, although she did have a bit of party animal in her too, it was college after all. In 2006, Kenny was officially a Respiratory Therapist at Huntington Hospital in Pasadena and Audrey was close to graduating from Cal Poly with her B.S. in Communications and International Business Marketing. Audrey finally decided to go on a date with Kenny at King's Fish House in Victoria Gardens. It was a bit awkward because they had never spent any alone time together outside of a party. They were so used to joking around, that an official date felt too serious. They never called each other back after that date and both went their separate ways...How they fell in love...Fast-forward to June 2007, Audrey and Kenny ran into each other again at their friends Serena and Alex's birthday party in Hollywood. They once again found themselves together on the dance floor, but this time felt different. They had a long conversation that night. Kenny seemed to have grown up a lot. He was passionate about his work and was much more thoughtful with his words. They had more in common now, yet they were still very different. Audrey couldn't stop thinking about him after that night. This time Audrey called Kenny. She wasn't sure what came over her because she never liked to be the one to pursue a guy. She asked Kenny out for their 2nd date, over a year later after their awkward 1st date. And from then on they were inseparable. They would talk for hours on the phone and venture off to every museum and major city they could. Throughout their 4 years together, they loved to travel. They've been to Maui, Chicago, New York, Seattle, Orlando, Florida, San Francisco, Las Vegas, and Mexico.Although the two are incredibly different, they both make each other a better version of themselves that they didn't know existed. Audrey has learned to relax and appreciate the smaller things in life, that she often took for granted. Kenny has become much more stylish, tech-savvy and can even cook a thing or two because of Audrey. Today they are in love and extremely lucky to have found each other.The Big Question...On July 30, 2011, the day before their 4 Year Anniversary, Kenny took Audrey to Downtown Claremont. Over the past year, they had talked about getting married, so Audrey, being the perfectionist and planner that she is hinted that she wanted to try rings on so that she would know her size and the style she wanted whenever the time would come. Kenny surprised her that day and took her to the Diamond Center to "try" rings on. Little did Audrey know that Kenny had been planning this day for months. With the help of his co-worker Virginia and her husband Erick, Kenny got a custom designed ring made to what Audrey had always wanted. He was actually hiding the ring in his brother's room for 2 months. The jeweler (Fonda) played along and had Audrey try on several rings. Audrey did not like any of them because she had always dreamned of a pear-shaped ring. Fonda then pulled out a ring and asked Kenny what he thought of it. Kenny took the ring, inspected it, and then turned Audrey around. To her complete surprise, over 20 of their closest friends snuck in the store as Kenny got down on one knee and with a tear in his eye and said..."Audrey, you know I'm not a mushy guy, but I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?"Audrey was completely shocked, she couldn't even answer right away. Kenny is normally unable to keep surprises, but this time she was truly in disbelief. Audrey quickly hugged Kenny and said "YES of course." That day was filled with overwhelming joy and they are both still very thankful for all the friends and family who helped make that day possible. They cannot wait to spend the rest of their lives together.To be continued...

Marvin Cruz - Best ManI’ve known Ken for LONG TIME! Ha...Alright, that’s the only Chinese joke on this I promise. I’ve known Ken for too damn long if you ask me. I mean I try to come up with a reasonable answer as to why I’m still friends with this guy and... Uh...Nothing! Let’s see, Ken pulls pranks on me like pulling my chair from underneath me in public, he likes to laugh at me when I’m pissed off or irritated, and he likes to inflict pain on me such as practicing his MMA moves to see if he could really break my leg! So ya I’ve been friends with him for far too long...Just playin you silly goose. Ken’s my bestest friend in the whole wide world. Seriously though, Ken and I have had each other’s back since we were kids and I know we’ll always be there for each other till we’re both old and wrinkly. Auds, you’re the best thing that’s ever happened to the Ken Dawg. Since you’ve came into his life all of the messed up things he’s so use to doing to me happens a little less. Congrats! Ian Reyes - Best ManI’ve known Kenny my entire life. Kenny has known me his entire life. So I guess that makes us brothers. Wait, we really are brothers. We’re both part Chinese, yet all of our friends only make fun of him for being Chinese and not me. I guess I’m grateful for that. He likes to trip me on purpose and tell me that it was by accident. I’m not grateful for that. Kenny also likes monster trucks and motorcycles. He likes MMA too. You would think he was born in Riverside, but he wasn’t. Maybe he was and I just didn’t know it, because it would make sense that he was from there.I’ve known Audrey for a long time too. The first time I met her she had cornrows and a wife beater on. I thought she was from Compton. But she wasn’t. She’s from La Mirada. She sure fooled me though. She’s also my roommate so I was able to get really close to her. Love you guys! Andrew Arnaldo - GroomsmanIt almost seems like yesterday when Kenny and Audrey first started dating. I remember seeing a twinkle in Audrey’s eyes as she gazed at Kenny and Kenny’s smile from cheek to cheek as he held her hand. They didn’t have to tell me they were dating that day, I just knew. And so instead of telling them congratulations, I told Audrey, “If you break Kenny’s heart, I’ll make you bleed your own blood.” It must have scared her, because they never broke up, and later in 2012 they will tie the knot. I’m sure there are more things that kept them together for so long. It could be the fact that Audrey balances out Kenny’s “Chinese Chuck Norris ego” and Kenny balances out Audrey’s “I’m still a baby syndrome”. Overall, throughout the years they have become one of the funniest and fun couples I know and have never seen the two of them so happy. It is fantastic that the world ends in 2012 with Kenny and Audrey getting married. I love you guys and can’t wait for the big day. One last thing Kenny, I wish I was there when you proposed to Audrey so I could have yelled “China man asks Chi Chi wanna marry me?!”. I still owe you! Haha j/k I know I’m not around as often but I’m glad we can still meet up at some crazy places and have a good time; Vegas, Miami, New York, and many more to come. It is an honor to be in your court and I can’t wait to experience my first Chinese wedding.Teague Shen - GroomsmanKen is like my brother in so many ways, but we kind of tag ourselves as Beach Bros. The two yellow guys (well I am more yellow/white than anything else) who show up at the beach with fried chicken and Gatorade bottles filled with libations. All we do is try and have new and amazing experiences together. I honestly think he is a MMA fighter inside of a china man's body and if he was Caucasian he would be a professional MMA fighter but since he is Asian and Asian men are not successful in the ring, he decided to roll with the Respiratory Therapist gig. All jokes aside, I love Ken and I love how our friendship has blossomed into something much more, brotherhood. He is my go to guy for a good time, along with Audrey who probably is the best thing that happened to him beyond saving lives at work. I love all three of our friendships because we have so many of the same interests which allows me to be a third wheel when we hangout. I wish you both an extremely amazing lifetime together where all your dreams and aspirations are made into a reality. Damn that sounded really awesome, right? I’ve had many bumps and bruises due to this barbaric behavior, but it’s ok because I Love him (no homo)! Kenny is all about making sure himself and everyone else around him is having a good time.Audrey Agban Agahan, Chan’s other half, is the greatest thing that ever happened to Kenny because before they got together Kenny’s style was.well....uhhh....let’s just say his sense of fashion was more appealing to those who drove monster trucks and rode dirt bikes (vrrrrooomm) . He went from flatbills and Matix Jerseys to V-necks and Salt Valleys. Thanx to Agban Kenny is now sponsored by Urban Outfitters! She is very musically inclined and as far as dancing, she aight! :)Congrats to you both!!! 143*637Eldrin Cruz - GroomsmanWords can't really describe these two because I'm still trying to understand how Audrey said “yes”. The very first time I found out these two were dating, all I thought was.....does Audrey have any idea who she's dating? Does she know Kenny used to be the guy that raps and sings on people's voicemails and creates remakes of old classic gansta movies. He's the guy that went from wearing hip hop goggles on his head, to trucker hats and jerseys and then became a Chinese urban ultimate fighter, all in one life time. The first time I met Kenny was when two of our friends Terra and Tana decided to eat in front of us. It may not seem like a big deal but when you eat in front of two fat people (Kenny and me) and not offer anything, you better hope you never see us again. Times have definitely changed from when me, Kenny, and Anh dominating Marvin, Joe, and Ian in basketball in Palmdale. Now Kenny is training to be first WWE Chinese Ultimate Warrior. I grew up with Kenny and he became one of my actual brothers that I can lean and depend on, we ultimately grew up as family and I'm glad to finally see my brother happy for the person he's with. The first time I met Audrey was in mammoth, she was the girl all the guys wanted to hang out with. She was cool, nice, laid back, and just loved to chill and have a few drinks with all the fellas. Her real test however would be to hang out with our group of friends. You’ve got to have thick skin to hang out with our group of friends. The fact that Audrey has decided to walk down the aisle, means she’s also marrying our obnoxious group of friends. It takes a real quality girl to blend in with the crazy family we have and now I know why Kenny couldn't let her go.The first time I knew Kenny was done, was at our trip to San Francisco. Kenny decided to leave me and Marvin because we were going to another club, and he said he’d rather stay with his girlfriend. I have never seen that much power a girl can have over Kenny, and i mean NEVER! When he said “no” to hang out with the boys, I thought the world was over. I hope Audrey knows that with great power comes great responsibility, soooooo please stop Kenny from hitting the citizens of San Dimas. I'm truly happy for the both of you and I'm even happier I can add another sister to the family. I truly love you both and I wish you nothing but the best and happiness in life. Chad Villacorta - GroomsmanKenneth is the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful person I have ever encountered. His smile will brighten anyone’s day. I personally saw him help a helpless little puppy that hurt his little leg. He took him, sheltered him and then tended to the injury until that little puppy could make his way home. Who does that? Only Kenneth. He loves anyone and everyone. No matter if they are white, black, yellow, gay or straight. The way he comforts people with his smooth mandarin accent, draws people closer to him. I feel like I can express any and all feelings and emotions with him. He will sit and listen for hours about guys, girls, gossip and what outfits are the best to wear each and everyday. I cannot imagine a life without Kenneth Reyes in it. Now he will embark on a journey with an equally brilliant other half. Audrey brings great balance to Kenneth’s world, which makes him a better man. With Audrey, Kenneth brings hope to all hopeless men, that dreams can come trueBrenton Agahan - GroomsmanAlthough I haven't known Kenny for a very long time, it has not been difficult at all to connect with him. It's funny because I always hear about the "Bully" identity Kenny has among his friends, but I have yet to see that side. I think that's a testament to how much he loves and respects my sister (and of course of my sister's controlling personality). I have tremendous respect for Kenny because of how much love and care he shows towards Audrey and his family and friends. He's been able to reach out to my family and me in a genuine way that really reflects who he is - someone who just wants others to feel comfortable and happy. I know how blessed my sister is to have a best friend by her side who will always have her best interests in mind. It did not take a long time for me to see that Kenny was the "one" for Audrey. I knew it in the first years of their relationship when I saw how much my sister matured with Kenny by her side. Audrey was already awesome before, but I truly believe that Kenny's loving personality has helped her to become a better friend, daughter, sister, girlfriend, and soon, an amazing wife and mother I'm sure. I am so excited for the continued growth they will both experience in a life of marriage together. Thank you again Kenny for all you've done for my sister and my family. I can't wait for the many memories we will share in the future!Bryan Agahan - GroomsmanFirst of all I just wanted to say how grateful I am to be chosen as a groomsman. I am honored and super excited for the wedding, it will be my first! Now what can I say about Kenny... I am glad that my sister has someone like you in her life. You're just a fun and easy going guy. After the many family parties and outings, I feel like we have gotten really close and I already consider you a big brother. Thanks for all the times you let me come over to your apartment to do laundry, eat, or just need a place to crash, it really means a lot.
