There is a lot of things that pet stores try to get you to buy for your hermit crabs like panted shells small tanks and un necessary things. Do not believe pet stores they are just trying to make more money they do not know what is best for hermit crabs.
What you need for a good hermit crab tank is a lot of sticks for them to clime on a big cage for them to run around in if you have 3 hermit crabs I recommend a 20 gallon tank you can get it at petsupermarket for 32$ for 4 to 7 hermit crabs I recommend a 30 or a 50 gallon tank I spoil my hermit crabs with a big 100 gallon hermit crab tank.
Food for hermit crabs
Hermit crabs like fruits and vegetables and some hermit crab food found in pet stores and on the Internet are good for them. I will show you the brand of food that I use . the pictures are to the right
hermit crab salt water is vary important they need it to molt. Do not just put house salt in the hermit crab tank it is bad for them and over time it might kill them. There is a picture blow of witch salt you should use
Spraying your hermit crab tank is vary important it keeps the moister in the tank so they can breath better I recommend using a spray bottle.
Choosing a shell for a hermit crab Is vary important do not use panted shells for hermit crabs I recommend natural shells here is a picture
if you do all of this than your hermit crabs should be just fine
this is what a healthy hermit crab looks like. he has a regular shell insted of a panted shell panted shells are bad for hermit crabs because the pant can chip off and the hermit crabs can eat it that makes them vary sick. so i hope you do not use panted shells .
