Hello Kirby
Jane Kirby is a freelance fashion illustrator who studied fashion design and illustration at the Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design.
After interning for Stephen Sprouse and working for Vanessa Noel, she entered the world of magazines as a stylist assistant in the fashion and beauty departments at publications like Mademoiselle, Marie Claire and Modern Bride.
She had all sorts of adventures while working in magazines, from chasing after women on the street for street style castings, to traveling to the Caribbean in the dead of winter for summer beauty shoots. Throughout all these escapades, Jane never forgot her love of illustrating.
She had been a regular contributor at Cosmopolitan magazine, illustrating their monthly horoscope, health, beauty, career and fitness pages. This illustration work led Jane to start her own design business. She creates hand cut paper illustrations, as well as water color drawings inspired by her fashionable friends.
Jane’s playful designs can be seen in magazine editorials, commissioned portraits, and her greeting card company, "Hello Kirby.”
Her holiday greeting card line and commissioned portraits were featured in Daily Candy's 2010 Holiday Gift Giving Guide and many fashion blogs.
In her spare time Jane continues her quest for making the perfect rosewater pink macaroons. She currently lives in NYC with her boyfriend, John, and cat, Taco.
