The Health Education and Promotion Council is committed to the elimination of health disparities. We provide continuing education opportunities which connect the professional with the latest research, best, and promising practices related to several disease conditions. In addition to resources for the health professional, the Health Education and Promotion Council is committed to increasing the publics awareness about basic measures to improve health and reduce the risk of preventable disease.
Our History
The Health Education and Promotion Council (HEAPC) was established by four visionary women as a means of identifying and eliminating health disparities. HEAPC is committed to providing excellence in health education for allied health professionals working within a variety disciplines. In addition, HEAPC is committed to planning, implementing, and evaluating public health initiatives that increases the publics knowledge of specific disease conditions, disease risk factors, and appropriate methods of disease prevention and management. HEAPC is committed to connecting both the health professional and the public with the latest scientific research and best practice model.
HEAPC was initially founded in Florida in 2007, and recently opened a second office in Rapid City, South Dakota. HEAPCs Rapid City office focuses on improving the health status of American Indians welcomes partnerships among tribal and urban health systems, state health departments, federal agencies, non-governmental organizations (NGOS), and universities.
Our Mission
The Health Education and Promotion Council (HEAPC) is a 501(c) 3 non-for-profit organization that is committed to improving the health and wellbeing of communities that suffer from health disparities. Our mission is to Synchronize culture, science, and education to improve health, economic, and social wellbeing. Eight priorities govern the activities in which HEAPC engages:
Reduction of preventable risks that have been scientifically linked with four broad chronic disease conditions (cardiovascular disease, respiratory disease, cancer, diabetes).
Increased health literacy and knowledge of basic methods to improve personal health (age appropriate medical screening, nutrition, exercise, appropriate condition management).
Identification and elucidation of socio-cultural determinants of health.
Maternal-child and reproductive health.
Reduction of addiction and substance abuse
Environmental health.
Improved data quality for diverse and rural populations.
Translation of health research and epidemiological data

The Health Education and Promotion Council is committed to providing quality education on a variety of health related topics. Please use the orange tab to select your topic of interest. We have categorized our educational training modules into four audience categories for your convenience: 1. Direct service professionals; 2. Public health professionals; 3. Community education; and 4. Educational institutions. Many of the training modules delivered by HEAPCs talented health educators offer continuing education credits and/or certification. HEAPC stands ready to assist you develop a health education solution for your organization regardless of its target population or location. Please call for details.
Technical Assistance and Training
HEAPC provides training and technical assistance for health programs to plan, implement, evaluate, and sustain evidence-based health promotion disease prevention programs. Technical assistance is always free to individuals that have completed education facilitated by HEAPC.
Keynote Speaker
For an impressive keynote address that will teach your audience critical information and leave them moved to action, call upon HEAPC. Whether the audience is technical or grassroots in nature, we are able to deliver a message that will be accepted by all.
Educational Format
We will be glad to share our experience and insight by speaking at your event or staff in-service training.
