Join us, as we stroll over the quaint streets of Downtown Parkersburg, West Virginia covering its haunted history and famous paranormal tales. Listen as the tour guides tell you stories of the Banshee of Marrtown, the East End Ghoul, tales of the West Virginia Mothman, the Men in Black and the November 2nd, 1966 appearance of the alien Indrid Cold (featured in "The Mothman Prophecies" book and movie) one mile south of the city limits of Parkersburg.
See actual places possessed by spirits, and haunted houses along the route, and pass by a haunted graveyard to hear to tales from within. Listen to famous accounts of railroad ghosts, Civil War spirits, Island haunts, and various supernatural stories unique to Parkersburg only.
The ghost tour takes approximately two hours and the walk is under two miles, but at a leisurely pace so you can enjoy the beautiful scenes and mysterious atmosphere. As always, the walk begins at the historic Blennerhassett Hotel in the downtown business district of Parkersburg. Tour meets at 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the hotel. Haunted Parkersburg nor the Blennerhassett Hotel are not responsible for lost items or accidents. So join the tour at your own risk.
The Blennerhassett Hotel is located at 4th & Market Streets in downtown Parkersburg. Regularly scheduled tours begin at 7:30 p.m. in the lobby of the Blennerhassett Hotel.

Here is what you need to know before joining the ghost tour...
1) No reservations are required for regular scheduled tours.
2) No alcohol allowed so this means absolutely no drunks.
3) Please keep in mind while the ghost tour is in full swing, it will be noisy and there will be huge crowds. If you do not enjoy large crowds, consider booking a private ghost tour for your family or group. You will need to have at least 8 people.
4) Bring a flashlight, wear warm clothing and comfortable shoes.
5) This is a long walk, so be prepared.
6) We don't recommend strollers, wheelchairs or crutches because of hilly areas.
7) The tour lasts 1-2 hours.
In 2009, Haunted Parkersburg was voted #9 in the nation by the Haunted America Tours.
We are a small city in western West Virginia located along the Ohio River. We do want to strongly remind tour goers that since we do not take reservations (unless it is a privately booked tour) by early October the crowds are heavy. We begin our tour in the downtown section of Parkersburg which is noisy from large trucks and other traffic. Please do not get upset if it is difficult to hear the very first story. We will gladly repeat anything you miss. We do our best, but we can do nothing about noisy traffic. Please be patient as the noise will soon leave as we go into the older, historical and more haunted sections of the city. Be advised the walk is a long one. Also, we do not go inside private homes and neither does any other ghost tour. At times we pick and choose our stories according to the crowds. We cannot tell every story we have. So, if there is a story we missed and you want to hear it, just ask the tour guide. We will happily do your story. Our ghost tour is led by people who have studied history & the paranormal for years.

You can book your own private ghost tour for you and your friends which costs about the same amount of money as going to a movie at the mall.
Groups of 10 or more is $10.00 per Adult. $6.00 for children 13 and under. We prefer 10 people to make it worth our while. If you have a smaller group than 10, we can take you out to see the haunted sites of Parkersburg for $15.00 per adult..
It is a lengthy walk and so we really do not want to take two or three people. We have done this in the past and it is not fun. We really need a gung-ho crowd to go with us and interact with the ghosts!

A private tour has many additions that the regular fall tour doesn't have such as explanations from tour guides about the world of ghosts and hauntings. Our main tour guide is an expert on the West Virginia Mothman, Indrid Cold, as well as ghost and hauntings, and she is also a nationally recognized psychic medium.
Private tours can sometimes go inside haunted places. Some of our guides are ghost hunters and can give tips on hunting ghosts.
