Though they play in churches they also perform at bars, state fairs, private parties, fundraisers, charities & a variety of other events & venues. The most important American antecedent of the blues was the spiritual, a form of religious song with its roots in the camp meetings of the Great Awakening of the early 19th century. Spirituals were a passionate song form, that "convey(ed) to listeners the same feeling of rootlessness and misery" as the blues.[5] Spirituals, however, were less specifically concerning the performer, instead about the general loneliness of mankind, and were more figurative than direct in their lyrics.[5] Despite these differences, the two forms are similar enough that they can not be easily separated — many spirituals would probably have been called blues had that word been in wide use at the time.[10]

Before the blues were songs known as “spirituals.” Spiritual music is the roots of the blues. The Hallelujah Blues Band is not starting something new or even reviving something old, they are continuing a legacy of the origins of blues music. That is why the blues is perfect for leading people into the presence of God and the singing of the good news of HIS salvation. The Hallelujah Blues Band started in 2007 when they changed its name from a different band that started in 1997 making that over a total of over 14 years of leading worship in churches and performing evangelism outreaches through the end of 2011. Please view the venue and events page showing where The Hallelujah Blues Band has performed which includes churches and ministries. If you are a church or a ministry, The Hallelujah Blues Band is available for you.

The Hallelujah Blues Band has over 70 years of collective performing experience. They perform a variety of classic rock such as ZZ Top and Blues from Stevie Ray Vaughn & B.B. King.
Their performance can be as short as a half hour or up to 4 hours, depending on the venue, event or occassion.
The Hallelujah Blues Band is also on a mission from God (to borrow a line from The Blues Brothers Movie) as they also lead worship in churches and perform at evangelism outreaches. (See "Spiritual" Page).
The Hallelujah Blues Band is a high energy Blues band that is always up for entertaining; whether it’s a small group or 40,000 runners as they pass by. Always dependable and easy to work with; The Hallelujah Blues band will impress even the most discriminating ear.

I have hired this band for the last four years at various events. The Hallelujah Blues Band has been a very positive influence in the growth and success of our July 4th celebration. This event has grown to over 3000 in attendance largely because of the band’s excellent performance. I plan to use The Hallelujah Blues Band for years to come! Large events often have their challenges, I have always been pleased with the band's level of professionalism and how they are prepared for the unexpected. I have never had to worry if the band would be on time. I have found them completely dependable and consistent. I would recommend the Hallelujah Blues Band for any venue! This is to highly recommend The Hallelujah Blues band. We have used them for several years in our annual Christmas parties. The band has always come through for us and has been a highlight of the party. They are very dependable making sure that they are set up and ready to go so that everything can start on time. They are professional in keeping everyone entertained as well as being helpful in making announcements. The band has also made several suggestions that we have used to improve our party.
