Membership
Executive Board
The board is responsible for fund leadership and investment strategy. The board consists of seven members, including the following: Chief Executive Officer, Chief Investment Officer, President, Director of Performance, Director of Trading & Education, Director of Human Capital, and Director of Public Relations.
Industry Leadership
This includes the portfolio managers (PMs) and vice presidents (VPs) of each of the seven industries. Industry leaders are responsible for managing their respective sectors, and are expected to deliver above-market returns and manage their industry membership.
Industry Members
Membership includes investment analysts and reseach associates which belong to each industry and assist the PMs and VPs in the fund's analysis and idea generation.
Industries
GUSIF has seven different industries in which analysts may partake:
Technology, Media, Telecom - electronics, semiconductors, software, internet, wireless and cable, media and adversiting companies
Consumer & Retail - apparel, restaurants, retailers, education, and food and household products
Heatlhcare - life sciences, health services, medical technology, biotechnology, and pharmaceuticals
Industrials - aerospace and defense, transportation, construction/infastructure, diversified industrials, forest products and packaging
Natural Resources - energy, power, chemicals, metals and mining and alternative energy fields
Financials - banks, insurance, asset management, financing, credit card, specialty finance institutions
Real Estate - range of organizations that buy, sell and develop land, mostly REITs
Roles
Portfolio Manager
Responsible for leadership and overall investment strategy.
Vice President
Responsible for news and assisting the PM in leadership duties.
Investment Analyst
Responsible for equity research and investment idea generation.
Research Associate
Responsible for assisting in research and holding reports.
