2012 Chasco Update

2012 - "14th Annual Chasco Fiesta Car, Truck & Bike Show"

Register Online

Now for the Chasco update and a few of the changes for this year. 125 trophies, 100 for cars & trucks, 24 for motorcycles and one "Best of Show overall". Dash plaques to the first 100 vehicles registered. Registration is (after 13 years) going up to $18.00 for pre-registered cars & trucks, $20.00 day of show. Motorcycles are staying _ $15.00 either way. All pre-registered vehicles will get a free "Event t-shirt". Additional T-shirts will be on sale during the show for $10.00.

So, be sure to pre-register...$18.00 (cars & trucks) or $15.00 (motorcycles), will get you registered with a dash plaque and a free t-shirt. Now that's a good deal. Plus thousands of spectators (yes thousands) and door prizes throughout the day.

Our sponsors are now lined up and they are...sponsoring all the car and truck trophies.."A-Tex Transmissions" and new for this year "Ed Morse Auto Plaza" ...... The "Lucas, Green & Magazine Law Group" is sponsoring all the Motorcycle Trophies. We thank them all....We have new trophies this year, same style, but different. T-shirt bids are starting to come in.

And now we have made it even easier for you to pre-register. Into the new technological world we go. No more mailing out registration forms and writing checks if you don't want. You can register and pay right here online by credit card just by clicking on the link "Register & Pay Online".. If you want to mail it in you can download a "registration form" or a "Show Flyer" and send it in to the address listed.

We now have our DJ lined up and ready to entertain us all. It's the "Beach Bum" Come on down and hear his music, it will keep you singing and swinging.

About Us

History

The Gulf Side Corvette Club was established in May of 1984 by Moe Weisberg, Corky Williams and Jim Young. Just a few Corvette owners meeting in the parking lot of th Gulf View Square Mall enjoying each others cars..

Purpose

Is to unite Corvette owners for the purpose of charitable activities, community parades and events, car shows and general socializing. As a non-profit group, we work for the betterment of our community.

Membership

Membership is limited to Corvette owners and their family. Annual dues are $25.00 due in January of each year. Owners are required to be at least 18 years of age. Membership benefits include meeting other corvette owners to do social events such as parades, homecomings, Special Olympics, cruises, car shows, and parties of all sorts. A yearly weekend outing with many other Corvette clubs is also a special event we attend. We also have Club shirts, hats, and jackets available locally for purchase.

Meetings

Meetings are held in the 1st Wednesday evening of the month. Meeting time is at 7:00 PM and is held at "Prime Time" located on US 19, just south of RT 52, across from Dunkin Donuts, on the north bound side.

Chasco Car Show

History of our Chasco Fiesta Car, Truck & Bike Show

Our first "Chasco Fiesta Car Truck & Bike Show" was in 1999 and was held at the same location as it is now (around Orange Lake in New Port Richey) and was on the same day as it is now (the first Sunday of the Chasco Fiesta, the day after the "Street Parade"). We had a registration fee back then of $15.00 and that has remained the same until this year (we are raising it to $15 pre-registration $18 day of show). The Gulf Side Corvette Club is proud to host this annual event that has a maximum of about 300 participants (by noon we are usually at capacity) and generally draws around 3,000 spectators.

Up until last year our charity was the "Pasco Education Foundation". Our new local charity is now the "Sand Soldiers of America" (sandsoldiersofamerica.com). The Sand Soldiers of America believes that all those who serve their country deserve respect and comfort when they return home. The Sand Soldiers of America serves veterans of the central asian conflicts by providing social services, encouraging fellowship and honoring their service and sacrifice through community events and memorials.

2011 Show

The 13th Annual Chasco Fiesta Car, Truck & Bike Show - 2011

The rain gods were with us this year and gave us a beautiful sunny day. Thanks to our two main sponsors A-Tex Transmissions & Castriota Chevrolet we were able to keep our registration fees _ $15.00, give free t-shirts to all of the 70 or so pre-registered vehicles, free dash plaques to the first 100 registered and still have enough to be giving our charity this year which is “The Sand Soldiers of America”. A check for $1000.00 will be presented to them on April 16th.

By 11:45 we were at capacity of around 300 vehicles and had some of the best looking vehicles I have ever seen at a local show. Some of these Cars Trucks and Bikes we’ve never seen before, and coming from all over. Thanks to our parking crew, registration ladies and our judges, I think the show ran pretty smooth. It was our 13th try at it, and over the years found quicker and more efficient ways to get things done. We began distributing our 130 trophies just before 3:00 and were done by 4:00.

This year our “Best of Show Overall” Trophy was won with a 1955 Chevy 210 Hardtop that was shown by Greg Land. To show you how “Great Minds” think alike, he also won “Participants Choice”. Club Participation was won by the “Knight Riders” with18 vehicles.

The 12th Annual Chasco Fiesta Car, Truck & Bike Show - 2010

Once again Gulf Side Corvette Club and our Sponsor "Castriota Chevrolet" would like to thank all of you that participated in our 12th annual Chasco Car, Truck, and Bike Show". We would also like to thank all of the local businesses that sponsored one or more of our "Specialty Trophies” and to all of those that gave us door prizes for the participants. This year, as it has been in the past, our designated charity is the “Pasco Education Foundation".

The weather was not what we had hoped for and yet we had over 80 registrants that stayed until we gave out the trophies (in the rain) around noon. This year in addition to the "Top Fifty" awards, we had an additional 110 sponsored "Specialty Trophies. We had 125 dash plaques to give out so everyone there got one, in addition to a trophy. Door prizes were also given out.

This years "Best of Show Overall" trophy (Sponsored by Landmark Awards) went to Richard Keefer with a 1960 Corvette. We had many clubs represented but it was the "Gearheads” that took the "Club Participation" plaque (Sponsored by A-Tex Transmissions) The “Naturecoast Corvette Club” had 16 pre-registered cars, with some more planning on coming, but it was really raining hard up there so none of them came, and you can’t blame them. All those that did pre-register and could not come, we are saving your dash plaques, so please contact us for them.. "Best of Show Automobile" (also sponsored by A-Tex Transmissions) was won by Gene Gutowski with a 1965 Pontiac GTO. "Best of Show Truck" (Sponsored by Brad's Cancer Kids) was won by Patricia Cooney with a 67 Chevy Pick Up.
